Hello All-

I feel pretty fortunate, just bought a 2002 - silver/black with 9000 miles on it. PDX area.

Real excited about the car. My previous toy was/is a black 1977 911s. Love the 911. Many good times in a car whose classic look and handling/performance belies its age.

The allure of open top motoring in the s2000 simply took a grip and wouldn't let go. Not too mention the simplicity and function driven design style. After selling my cbr last summer-9000 rpm didn't hurt the s2000's persuasive power either.

This S has only seen one oil change at 7500 miles in 2004. I imagine the first order of business is getting an oil change and putting some synthetic in it as well as changing the brake fluid.

I plan on choosing a reputable local dealer for the work. (time)
Is there anything else that I should have addressed immediately?
Anything I need to stay on top of the dealer about and make sure they address correctly?

Thanks in advance, I stumbled on this forum when I was doing some internet research before buying the car and I am very happy to have found you guys.

The only question now is, can I bear to part with my beloved 911? (space reasons)

Chris

Just joined...friend's got a s2k and he's on the maxima.org forum occasionally so i thought i should do the same. I have a 2k2 Maxima SE 6sp w/ HLSD. Being a family sedan doesn't take much away from it's performance capabilities. I can run pretty tight with a lot of s2k's out there...before you flame, it's not stock! I have quite a bit of aggressive driving experience and would consider myself a seasoned driver. racing is in the family so I've learned a lot from my father and my close friend that brought me here...05S2k02Si he is one of the most calculating and talented drivers i know. he has proven time and again he can get the most out of a car and do it smoothly and fast . I hope that my time here is enjoyable and enlightening.

Surge, Chris, Cale... Welcome aboard!

Cale, you'll convert to an S2000 owner soon, I'm sure.

Chris, keep the 911 if you can. Always nice to have a classic. Your S is almost ready for synth, but you might want to wait until 10000 (but definitely do the change given oil's been in there 2 years already)(. In any case, you'll be fine. Note that the pre-MY04 engines have an appetite for oil, so keep your eye on the dipstick at every fill up (not just at change intervals!).

Hey guys!!! Brand spankin' new 2006 Laguna Blue checking in!!

My name is Danny, born and raised in Hialeah, Florida (right next to Miami). I've always been a Honda man despite being relatively young (23). I had an 03 Accord LXV6, but the S was my dream car from the day they rolled out.

Plan on keeping this one for a very looooooooooong time. It's a total blast to drive, and the Laguna blue turns heads everywhere. The hardest part of owning this car is waiting to get past the break-in period.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning a lot from everyone.

Danny

Danny, congrats on your new blue. I think if they'd had Laguna back in 2002, that's the color I would've gotten. Give your owner's manual a thorough read, and follow the break-in guidelines.

There's a pretty active s2ki community down in the Miami area. Be sure to check their forum out.

Hello All,

Well, It has been a long road back to the Honda community, but I'm back. I have been messing around with Nissans for the past few years, building a 315 WHP Sentra SE-R. To tell you the truth, that car was nothing but problems, so I'm excited to be almost backwith Honda.

I will be purchasing a 2003 s2000 and soon after installing the inline pro turbo kit. I don't plan on boosting too high just yet, but plan on keeping the boost at around 7-8psi. Later plans are for 450Whp.

Can't wait...really excited!

I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

Cheers,

Gus

Good luck with your search, Gus. 450 WHP is asking a lot from an S2000. Just realize if you go down that route, you will be spending a lot more money than the car i sworth.
