Oh hey Chazmo I got that harsh ticking problem fixed. It turned out to be what i thought that it was. The timing chain tensioner. That and I put some fresh oil in it that away the new part wasnt being lubed by bad oil.
Hi there. I just upgraded from a '97 Black/Tan Miata to an '02 Sebring Silver/Black S2K. Wow! I am basically relearning stickshift because of the high rpms and the notchy 6-speed gearbox! Car is in beautiful shape but I will have to replace all fluids soon here (for my own benefit more than anything so I can keep track of it).
Any pointers for fluids, brake pads, DIY write-ups and other things I should do while under the hood (apart from normal maintenance program)?
Thanks and hope to visit the forum regularly.

Chazmo, what issues came up from the under-torqued spark plugs?
Also, does anyone have problems with shifting into 2nd gear? I think it had to do with my cars privious owner; but shifting into second requires full clutch depression, where none of the other gears do. And even then it will occationally grind. Double-clutching is the only method i have found that ensures a smooth shift.
I had the same problem (to a worse degree) on a 95 prelude si.
Any thoughts?

Taki, please have a look at the forum FAQ link thread, which will lead you to the oil journals thread and others. Everything and more that you want to know about fluids for your S2000. Trust me.
Also, if you have any suggestions of threads for me to add, let me know. Finally, have a look at the FAQ in the S2000 Talk forum (which has more details).
Chris, the plugs backed out, and disintegrated causing damage to the pistons and cylinder walls -- short block replacement, and possibly valve damage. The damage was so serious that Honda issued the recall (excuse me, "campaign"). I do know of one guy who caught this in time and experienced no engine damage despite a major piece of his sparkplug missing.
