Introduce yourself here! Part II
Names matt. I'm 22 years old and I live in NC. I own a 2002 Sebring silver S. Black interior. I've had it for about 6 months now. Have it lowered on coilovers with 17x9 all around. Only other mods are an intake and exhaust. I plan on doing other bolt ons, cams, maybe some head work, and a tune. It's my daily
hello s2ki! I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have a reason to join this forum. I've wanted an s2k since I was in high school but it's always just been too unpractical for me. now that I'm out of college and have my 08 wrx to be the dd I've finally pulled the trigger. I'm now the proud owner of an 01 Berlin black.... I actually wasn't planing to purchase a car at this time but had to out of necessity to have something to drive while my wrx is in the shop getting the clutch pedal assembly re welded to the firewall (very stupid common problem with 08 wrx). but anyway, I'm a newbie when it comes to Honda's, but I'm no spring chicken when it comes to the car mod game. came from a background of muscle cars, and of course the aforementioned subaru.... so thanks for the add to the forum and I look forward to spending a lot of time here!!
Greetings from Fort Wayne, IN!
I just bought an '06 Rio Yellow s2k last week, with ~48k miles on it. It has been a blast driving around the last few days, while the weather is still (somewhat) warm. What a fun vehicle for cruising out in the countryside and into town.
I've never ran so many errands as I have in the last few days!

Hello to all. I have owned my 2002 S2000 since October of last year and have spent the year becoming familiar with it. My 2002 has 138,502 miles and it is my daily driver, as it's my only car. I absolutely love this car and knew absolutely NOTHING about the S2000 before I purchased it. I'm still a bit unfamiliar and have stopped a few S2000's I've seen on the road in my area to ask questions. My main questions is, "if you had it to do all over again, what would you do differently or what would you do first?". I do not intend to modify the car much as I do not have any intent to race it nor build it for track runs. I would only like to enhance it a bit. First thing I changed on my car was to replace the Falken tires with Potenza's. I do use the factory sizes so yes, it is offset 16's. Next up is brakes. Went to LHT and was told to upgrade the entire brake system, which would cost just shy of $900, but I'm reading that it would not be advisable to do so and would like some input. The only other things I was considering was to change out the entire exhaust for something much lighter and replace the rims to reduce some weight as well. I am also considering the suspension after reading quite a bit on the forums, but again I only want to enhance my car, not create a track car. This is my daily driver and will be for some time. LHT told me that the lower end of my motor needs to be rebuilt and was told that I should completely change out the engine and replace it with an AP2, but keep EVERYTHING else AP1...transmission, computer, etc. Right now I'm burning a quart of oil every 1,200 to 1,500 miles and was told it would cost the same to rebuild the motor, as it would to just replace it with an AP2 motor that has approx 70,000 miles.
Simply put, I love my car...LOVE MY CAR!!!, way more than I thought I would. Not wanting to turn her into a track car. Tires are done, so...brakes are next and would really love honest input. After that, I intend to change out the exhaust, but don't want something too loud. Would like something that's not too loud under normal driving conditions, (under 6,000rpm's). However, wouldn't mind hearing her roar at 6,000 and up when the V-Tech kicks in. After that, I am looking to purchase lighter rims and that will complete my upgrades for this year. Next year I'm going to change out the motor to the AP2, based on LHT's recommendation, but would love any input. I would consider upgrading the suspension, but does it need it? No, I'm not going to lower her. Lastly, I will upgrade the factory stereo. From there...who knows. But, for right now, I would love any input anyone is willing to offer. Thank you all for your advice.

Welcome!
IMO, for daily driving with no intentions of tracking it, there's nothing wrong with stock wheels, brakes, suspension, and exhaust. It's like that saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." With that said, if you have the money to spare and want to spend it on those items, more power to you. It's your car to do with as you please. Personally, I would be concerned about those types of mods drawing unwanted attention to thieves. Speaking of thieves, this is a good read: Keeping Your S2000 Safe at Night. If you're passionate about music, yes upgrade that stereo and add some good speakers!
