As a car guy now in my seventies I started out buying clapped out English sports cars to wrench on, hot rod, or restore. Never worth much but tons of fun. Later, when I could afford them, I moved to Porsche 356s. By then I realized my hobby could more than pay for itself. As the fan base aged out, the value dropped. Early Japanese cars I think are the new collectibles as the demographics mature. A car that was desirable and rare in ones last two years of high school or the first two years of college becomes attainable when the collector reaches the age where he or she is through raising a family and the house is paid off. I have a first year Miata and now a first year S2K. Looking for that red first year NSX.
oh that’s very cool! I didn’t know about that. I am in the Rogers/Bentonville area. Totally interested. Looks like i missed this years event
I just joined S2KI a moment ago and was about to type out my intro when I saw your pic, I’m in NWA (Bella Vista) also and just drove my Berlina AP2 home last night!
Recently purchased a completely stock 2008 AP2 and thrilled to join the S2000 community!
Original owner was an elderly gentleman who only drove it 2K miles per year (24k on it currently) and serviced it religiously at his local Honda dealer since it was new.
Planning to keep it stock, but I did swap out the head unit with an Alpine UTE-73BT, added LED interior and plate lights, and will be swapping the amber side markers for clear ones soon. May also add an OEM replica rear lip spoiler.
I’ve had numerous manuals before, but I’m really going to need to become accustomed to revving at higher RPMs and not shifting too soon.
This forum has proven very helpful during my hunt and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!

Congratulations! Beautiful car. I have the same alpine unit but need to install it as well. How long did it take you and did you get the modifry dci? I have that also and need to carve out some time so curious how long.

Thank you!
Yes, I did get the Modifry DCI. The actual process of installing it only took maybe an hour? However, I had many issues due to what I think was a pinched wire. If you follow the instructions, you shouldn’t have any issues though. Honestly the most difficult part was fiddling with the brackets from the stock unit and installing them properly on the Alpine one.
The head unit itself is awesome. Love having the convenience of Bluetooth audio streaming and hands free calling. Also appreciate how you can customize the lighting so it matches the instrument cluster to give it a stock look. Perhaps most importantly, it really makes the stock speakers sound so much better! Good luck with the install.

i installed a nice Sony head unit in my daughters crv that took a while due to having to dismantle half the dash burn is really ice and she loves it. I’ll carve out some time to tackle installing on the s2k soon.
