Hi all
Finally got my S2000 (2001 AP1, Yellow/Black) from the original owner since new. Wanted this particular car for nearly ten years, and the owner finally needed to move it to a new home as she could not safely drive it any more.
The good: Bought it from the original owner, drivetrain is very well kept up. Never tracked, raced, for probably even hard launched. Literally the little old lady IRL. Owner was a friends mom. Semi fresh new soft top. Zero mods, other than XM radio into the stock stereo. No codes. Everything works. Air blows cold, heat hot.
The bad: Outside parked, under trees its whole life. DD most of its life until this year (120k miles). Dings and chips aplenty. Driver seat needs repair (big duct tap repair on the seating area, left bolster is smashed. OEM speaker rattles badly at any volume above quiet. Alloys are pretty beat up and dirty in a way that washing did not resolve. Was in a minor accident this year (some hit in in the side, professionally repaired at a good body shop). Already had its first serious cleaning.
Good luck with your new S2K....I've bought, sold, restored many sports cars....This is the best drivers car I've ever owned.
I worked on a neighbor for 3 months...she had an '06 Laguna Blue...sitting in her driveway, original owner.... left outside, with well water from the sprinkler system dousing it every other day for years, the paint was shot, rust starting on the right rear quarter panel, the finish on the wheels was gone....49k miles......I begged her to sell it to me so I could restore it.....She wouldn't budge!...I couldn't wait any longer, I had to find another one.....Flew to DC to look at an '07 Laguna Blue....drove it home to Florida....the car was just about mint with a new top.....So back in Florida, I finally got the woman with the '06 to restore it, and garage it. The Honda dealer did all the work, I'm not a big fan of dealers, but, it's her car.... I've got to say they did a great job, repaint, new trim, and they had the wheels refinished for about $150 a wheel....cheaper than buying new wheels. I think with replacing the headlights, some trim, repaint and refinishing the wheels, she put 10k into the car.....bone stock....it looks great. Well kept these cars will only keep appreciating in value....No one makes a car like this anymore!
Hi all owned my AP1 07 facelift for 14 years and just signed up for my keyring :-) I am after some advice on the running temperature of my stock car,
I had the water pump changed last year on the car just before it went into hibernation, went out for a blast last night and it seems to be running hotter than I remember, the gauge is running a coupe of lights off half way, The car is an 07 all stock apart from one of the big ass K&N induction filters that i put in about 6 years ago ( i did clean the filters last year with the K&N cleaning kit ) . Is there are a specific forum I should use to ask for advice on the running temp i may just be a little paranoid.
I changed out all my hoses, replaced the thermostat, and did a system flush. It was a task getting all the air out of the cooling system....and until I did, the car ran hot. So you may have an air bubble in the cooling system. There's good info on this forum for the correct way to bleed the system, and some good Youtube video's that can help you. Get that funnel kit for refilling the cooling system, it worked great.....Here's one on Amazon.......

I just used that funnel based on the DIY guys video on youtube and the entire job went really smooth.
Owner 2001, just over 100k miles, owned it for 10 years. Only drive about 2,500 miles/year. Bought used.
Love the car, very reliable. All stock except radio.
I've had my stock 07 NFR for a few years now and have been mostly lurking between here and reddit. Anyways I've decided to join the club and wanted to say hi to everyone! I'm from Chicago originally but have been living in Connecticut for 2+ years now.
Hey all! I figured it was time to see how many other S2K owners are out there nearby in the South Jersey area, and if any informal get-togethers or organized events are planned...?
I have a black/black '08 that I picked up in '11. Had to replace the rag top a few years ago and picked a dark cherry for the heck of it, which looks OK but probably should have stuck with the stock black. It's always been my 'second' car, kept in a garage. (Had an '08 RX8 for 6 years as my daily driver.) It's up to 62k miles now, but putting a lot fewer miles on it lately as it's now our 3rd car. ('18 GTI and '19 Grand Sport are our 'daily drivers' lol) Other than the top, a taller wind screen, and an ipod adapter, it's stock. Not interested in tracking it, just drive it like it's supposed to be driven when I take it out. With the top down of course.
So having just bought the Vette and joined a local owners club, it made me appreciate the shared experiences with other owners. I know there are a lot fewer S2K owners but wondered how often owners meet up for whatever, informal cruises, diner parking lot comparos, etc.?? Of course with the current social distancing it isn't as easy... but that shouldn't stop a few owners from a casual meet&greet, or even a cruise down the shore?.
Looking forward to hearing from any and all!

I am new to ownership of S2000 and this forum. I was looking through the introduce yourself section and saw your comments. One stuck out at me which is you installed a taller wind screen. I don't know about that piece...should I ? Is it a good addition and if it is, how can I find one. My car is black and will need a top eventually...glad for the comment on the color for your top and that you would probably stick with Black.
Just picked this 04 ap2 this week, 74k miles, the paint needs some love but I got it for 4k which seems like a steal!! Excited to be back in the car game because I got rid of all my fast toys years back after having kids and once this deal got offered to me I didn't think I could pass it up!
