Hello everyone! I live near LaGrange, Texas (Yes, the one from the ZZ Top Song) and I will be picking up my new-to-me S2K this week. 2007, Rio Pearl Yellow, with 25k mi. Super excited to be getting into one.
I also have my late father's 67 Mustang GTA convertible with the 390. A 2015 C7 z51 and a Rush SR race car.
I bought my 01 Yellow new Vin #104, but sold and regretted it
Then I bought an 06 Silverstone new, but never fell in love with it like the Ap1.
Now kids are grown and I am on the hunt for an 02-03 Ap1 again!
Main question is that my 1st 2 were new and I never got past 30K mi. Now I am looking at cars with 80-120K miles. I know the TCT is a must, anything else?
I don't have it yet so I am sure I will have more questions when I actually have a target....

I had an '01 for many years. I think my posts date back to 2002 or 2003. Eventually sold it and replaced it with a series of much faster cars that came and went. But, as I grew older and speed now just a commodity even in commuter EVs, I finally realized the experience the S2000 gave me. When driving past a cars-n-coffee, it was the only car that turned my head. So, finally pulled the trigger and picked up an absolutely mint '07 with 30K miles. I don't expect ever selling it. It's not fast, but it puts more of a smile on my face than any other performance car I ever owned.
All I can say is that I finally "get" it. I get why dudes spend 100K+ on a numbers matching 60s Camaro, or a fully restored Alfa Romeo. You could get a Tesla that would be 'better' than those cars in every measure of performance. And it would be great for getting from A->B. But, that misses the point.

Congratulations @signde and welcome. If you don’t mind sharing, whereabouts are you located and where did that first drive in your S2000 take you?
Though it wasn’t my first car, the first new car I ever bought (and one of the few new cars I’ve ever owned) was a 1987 Honda CRX Si (great car). Also like yourself, my S2000 marked the first time back in a Honda car after some time away from the brand (though not completely as I owned Honda motorcycles during the interim). The S2K also marked my return to top-down driving, having previously owned a couple of different convertibles in my younger years. As for your search, 6 months really isn’t bad at all to get what you were after — especially as these cars continue to decrease in number as time marches on. In addition, like yourself some travel was involved when picking up my S2000. I picked the car up in Central Oregon (Bend area) and then drove it back through the Cascades to NW Oregon. That was one great and very memorable drive.
