Default Introducing myself..

Hello All,

Just wanted to say hello. After six months long months of brooding, I finally took the plunge and bought a S2K. Traded in my trusty 97 Miata. A red, 04 model with 10K on the clock.

PS..
Not to take advantage of this board straight away, but it came with 18in Racinghart Rims, 255/35 Rear and 235/40 Front. Under tight cornering, the rear wheel rubs . Is there anything I can do about it?

Regards,
Arjuna

Outstanding, Arjuna. Welcome aboard to s2ki.com, and welcome to S2000 ownership.

I moved from a gen. 1 Miata to an S2000 back in 2002. I've never looked back.

I had the same situation with 255s on my Prodrive 17" rims last year. I downsized my tire to 245... Yes, if you're willing, you can "roll" the rear fender. I think that will remove the lip on the inside of the wheel well that you end up rubbing against. I chose not to do that, but many owners have.

IMO, 18" rims are kind of big for our car. But, that's personal choice. Beste wishes.

Oh, and BTW, another option is to find rims with a deeper offset so that you don't rub in the first place. I don't know if you want to do that or not.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. The S2K is worth every single penny .

As to the rubbing issue, I am going to go back to the stock 17s. I had it checked out, and the consensus was that a wee bit of fender rolling would solve the problem, but i really don't want to do that
