Thumbs up Just got an S2000 w/ 153,000 miles, HELP!

Hello everyone.

My brother gave me his S2000 (he had a baby and bought himself a Nissan Titan) with 153,000 miles on the odometer but it got a new engine and transmission at ~79,000 miles.

I just picked up some KW v3 coilovers and ST sway bars but I feel like I should be more worried about getting this car in good shape before worrying about modifying its suspension.
It seems to be working just fine, however, I was wondering what I should look out for in terms of maintenance for the engine and transmission, differential, brakes, etc. to keep this car running smoothly.
Although I have already changed the oil and filter, what other things do you guys recommend I do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

download the honda service manual, and it should have a full maintenance schedule in it.

differential fluid
brake fluid
clutch fluid
transmission fluid
alignment
valve adjustment
grease the convertible top seals so they don't dry out
cabin filter
air filter
spark plugs

give the car a good wash and wax.

All of this stuff is either answered in the FAQ and/or has it's own forum here for your perusal. Sign up on Honda's OwnerLink and you can download the factory maintenance schedule.

Awesome, nothing beats getting a free car, and a S2K to boot.

Congrats on sweet free ride. My second car I got free when I was in high school was Neon. Lol. I couldn't imagine if I would of had this car passed down to me.

The things 90crvtec stated would be good things to do if they haven't been done in a while or at all.

Since it's an older ride, I'd recommend checking the CV and steering boots. They could probably use a good cleaning and spray down with some 3M silicone spray as well. Search for a thread by Road Rage with the topic Chassis Lube for more info.
