Looking to Buy a S2K
Hi All,
Joined this forum to do a little trouble shooting on used S2K's. I know most of you will say they are fantastic (or you wouldn't be here
But as with all "collectable type" cars, there usually is a quirk here and there. I'm trying to find out what exactly to look for when checking out a prospective car that I might purchase. For example: Are there reoccurrant break problems? Trans or Clutch problems? Suspension parts that need replacing on a regular bases etc. I know a 5,6, or 7 year old car is bound to have something wrong with it, or will soon. I hope I'm not asking too much? I have not even driven one yet. There are a couple for sale not too far from me in S/E Michigan and I plan to check them out and take a short drive. Any help or advice is much appreciated. I'm pretty good mechanic and know that most things I can fix myself, save major overhauls of the engine or trans. I can handle suspension, breaks, electrical, exhaust stuff etc. Thanks in advance! Cheers to you all!!!

Biggest hidden problem would be damaged valve retainer clips due to mechanical over revs. One condition of purchase should be the onwer having recent service records confirming everything is in good condition.
