Default Looking for my Next 'Dragon' Slayer

Let me start off by saying I've always loved the S2000. I've always wanted one, but unfortunately when they came out I was 11. In High School, I knew that I wouldn't be able to help myself in a sports car, so I drove a Jeep Wrangler. Now that I'm older and more mature, I think I'm ready for an s2k. I'll be living at Deal's Gap (the Tail of the Dragon) this summer running the Heart of the Dragon convenience store/gas station in Tallassee, TN and I want something fun to run the Dragon in. After much thought about buying a bike, I realized that I don't want to take my chances just yet on the Dragon - I ride motorcycles with my dad, but nothing too crazy - mostly touring stuff. I know that I may get a little throttle happy on a bike up there and could wind up in a lot more trouble on a bike than in a car.

Thus, I'm in the market for an AP1. I'm thinking of making it a project - I've been looking for s2ks with blown motors that I can replaces with a good motor, or a high mileage s2k (found one with 170k!) that I can replace the drivetrain in.

I look forward to learning a lot here on s2ki.

Also, if any of you are ever up at the Dragon, PM me and stop by the store - we'd love to have you and it'd be great to meet you guys in person.

Take Care,

Austin (aCab)

Good deal! I might make a trip up there this summer, its only 2 hours away. Please be safe when you commute on the road on a day to day basis. You might get a little cocky and things could get hairy. Just keep it safe!

wow, you are lucky. I wish i lived near that road so bad. I get jealous when people talk about it. You really need to get yourself an s2k. I mean I am sure you will be able to enjoy it a lot down there. Good luck with your search man. Honestly though you can probably find a decent s2000 without looking for one with a blown motor. Just look for one of the earlier model years.
