MAybe a silly questin but. . .
I have owned both and can say the AP1 has a much edgier feel, the steering is tighter, the suspension feels tighter and the 9k redline is just pure fun. In fact my father still has an AP1 so I can drive them literally back to back.
The AP2 is better as a daily driver, it is much more comfortable over the bumps and feels much smoother on the highway. The torque is better on the AP2 down low so you are not always revving up so high, kind of nice in daily driving as well.
If this is your only car, go AP2, if you have another, but drive both and see which one you like better, don't just take advice from us...

thanks guys
one more question, i looked up DBW since i had no idea what is was and asked a college's auto instructor about it. According to him that's better than a mechanical steering because it is lighter and doesn't take horsepower but i had read that the computer can change the steering input as well. So do most peop,le not like it because the steering is not as responsive or tight? Or that the computer softens it out a little?

Huh? The throttle is by-wire not the steering. Some people claim they can tell the difference. Others can't.
Again, test drive, test drive, test drive. Reading won't tell you what your preference is.
