Default My first test drive in a 2005

This is coming from a celica GT-S 6 speed with same red line.

Things i noticed
1. HOLY $H!7 this thing is small, no room for a 6 foot 180lb dude
2. from the "sex in a s2k thread", you better be a midget to pull that off
3. whats up with the big button on the left to switch from am to fm? was that really needed?
4. stuck to the road a lot better than my celica GT-S, ALOT BETTER
5. the 6 speed was not as smooth as my c-60 tranny...i herd this thing was smooth? maybe the lady before poorly maintained it?
6. vtec'd once and it wasn't to impressive.

Questions
1. Where is the VSC button? i couldn't find it then i went looking in the glove box...lol yeah that was funny
2. where is the gas lid thingy?
3. the req'd maint thing was on..that mean oil change or?
4. i closed the top thinking it would be fine but one of the things got stuck...i guess you close it slower than opening eh? well at least when it gets close to closing? idk, im a noob to convertables.

In general i didn't like the car all that much based on having him in it...im more of a solo driver. then i popped the top when we got back, im sold... im buying one asap. pisses me off my flip screen touch screen tv can't come with me. DD is going to suck but at least i can pop the top. Something leads me to believe this car might have been beaton a bit, wasn't as fast as i thought it shoulda been.

looks like you have a lot to learn about the car... 05 doesnt have VSC.. if that maintenance light was on that car was probably molested and abused. celica GT-S and s2k should never be compared... im getting angry so ill stop typing.... good luck shopping

The maintenance light is just a timer. The check engine light means there is a problem.
The gas lid is near the back side of the driver's door sill.

What do you mean one of the "things" got "stuck"?

I'm 6'2", 160 lbs. and I've been daily driving mine for near 3 years.

Instead of just going into vtec, take it to redline. That's what the car is built for. I abuse my car daily and it has no problems.

VSC....VSC is the steering wheel and gas pedal for 05 and older. How it should be.

Expect to be criticized for this post. I mean to each their own but you come on an S2000 forum and bitch and complain about the car. Nothing good to say except you can "pop the top".
The car IS better than a POS Celica. Take it on the twisties, that's where the S shines. Straight lines don't mean Sh*t!

Be sure to ask for vehicle service records.

If they did their own fluid changes, ask for recipets for everything that went in the car.

For my S2k, the transmission needs to fully warmed up to be slick shifting

If you think the car has been abused, find another one. No point in buying someone elses head ache. I rather buy a car with double the mileage and full service records.

In the end, drive what make you happy be it the S2k, or the Celica GT-S.

Haha that car sounds like it has taken a couple of shots at it hahaha.
I am also curious, what do you mean by:
"one of the things got stuck"
and
"i didn't like the car all that much based on having him in it"
That second line really confused me. I thought it was a lady's car. Who is him? Her husband? Why would it matter when you popped the top? Did you throw him out of the car?

You're just asking for flames by being a doofus troll with "Master S2k" as a title.

You're only making the hp of a Civic if you don't keep it between 6000 and redline all the time.

Just make sure the car is properly warmed up first.

Now now little boy, he already said the S2k stuck to the road better than the Celica.

The "POS Celica" comment you just made shows how little you know about different cars other than your Mommy's S2K.

I came from a Celica GT-S 6sp to a S2000 and this S2000 performs much better than the Celica Stock for Stock given that it has bigger wheels, RWD, LSD, lower center gravity, torq, shap, etc.

Now the V-Tech is not impressive to you is because the transition between the two cams are MUCH MUCH smoother than the GT-S.

The GT-S Jumps at 6200 in Lift so you would think "OOOOOOOOH MANNNNN" but in reality, Jumping curve is a bad thing.

You want the power curve to be as smooth as possible like the S2000.

And yes, you should not, and cannot compare these two cars because they are completely different class.

I miss my GT-S but I love my S2000, it offers the best overall Performance, Looks package. Best of all, its TOP LESS.....
