With the top down, especially when I am at idle putting the shifter into 1st, I can easily hear the notch of it going in. Try sitting in the garage with the car off, shift around, and listen.

When I do that with the engine off, it doesn't go into gear most of the time. Like I put it into 1st and when I shift to 2nd I have to force it in or like when I shift from 5th to 6th is doesn't go in and blah blah like it doesn't' let me shift. That's normal right when the engine is off? lol.

No, not at all. You should beable to shift through all gears with little resistance when the car is off.
