Hi everyone,

I just got an '08 CR with around 3k miles on it. It was purchased from a dealer who had gotten it from an auction "as is." What that means for me (that I can see, so far) is that the fairings have been removed, and the majority of the tires that came with the car have been switched out.

I'm working with the dealer (having to force them, actually) to get the fairings replaced at their dealer cost (approx 15-20% under retail)...and still don't have a key fob!!! Other than that, though, the car seems to be in really good shape overall, though I guess it should be, since it's only got 3k miles on it, supposedly.

My previous two cars were my wife's '02 V6 Accord coupe (can't stand automatic!!!) and a '94 5 speed Prelude 4WS, so although in the same Honda family, it's quite a different car for me. I don't want to upgrade the car in a big way, since it's plenty of car for me, and the CR is extremely solid (the roughest ride in which I've ever been!). I'm 31 so don't need to impress anyone, don't plan on racing it, etc. That means I most likely wouldn't consider any performance upgrades, other than perhaps a CAI, though I'd like advice on what that would really do for this car.

I'm going to be installing a new Sony head unit, some Infinity Reference Component speakers in the door, and a Boss Bass1200 in the spare tire area (hoping that the lows will come through enough!). Also having Dynamat installed in the doors, though from reviews I've read, I'm not sure it's going to do much.

I'm also trying to contact Kodokan to see if he is still offering seat locks, as I've read in these forums that that can be a huge problem.

Other than any suggestions any of you have regarding anything I've said so far, or other things I should be aware of or really need to upgrade, I'm curious if any other hard top/CR owners experience a rattle coming from the two front latches for the hard top. It's driving me crazy. I was thinking of taking it to the local Honda dealer to see if they could fix it, but was hoping for a little insight from actual owners first.

mine rattles somewhat when driving. you can readjust the top. just do a little searching to figure it out.

 

I've given up on my latch rattle. I can make it lessen for a short period of time, but never completely go away =[

 

i'd rather have the latch rattle then not have a hardtop

Congrats! BB looks nice on the CRs. I've put 10K miles on mine in the last year, about 12 autocross events and a track day and it's just as tight as it was when I picked it up.
