New here
Hey guys. I'm looking to purchase a MY01 with about 30k miles on it. What are some problems that I might run into buying a car this old? Can someone guide me to where I can read a bit more on this? I do not want to buy a car to spend more money fixing things on it (not speaking about upgrading mods)
thanks
thanks
For a high-performance car, the S has proved very reliable. Your miles are low, there are numerous examples with 3 times that are still running fine. True that tires are expensive so make sure you consider that. Also, AP1s sometime use oil. Not a big deal as long as you keep an eye on it. They are also sometimes plauged with a condition known as clutch buzz. This is more of an annoyance but can be fixed. Rear window on MY00-01 is plastic and, over time, will haze and sometimes crack. Also, the tops are prone to wear at certain touch points with the roof bracing. There is an excellent checklist stickied in this forum for buyers to use, very comprehensive. Also, if you search on items such as 'clutch buzz' and 'top wear', you can get much more detailed info. Good luck.
Thanks 8 ball, I am aware that this car does have the clutch buzz you mentioned. As for the top, I will invest in a hardtop.
How long should the stock clutch last under moderate driving?
