Welcome to the site

I always tempted the idea of getting an EVO as my second car, but every time I drove one I could never see myself as owning one. Good luck with your search for an s2000

About the AP1, I was told by friends not to buy it because the AP2 is a better built car.. Better motor and suspension geometry?
Seems like your friend is biased towards the ap2 I would drive both ap1 and ap2 to see which one you like better .

Screw the CR, why would you want a convertible that you have to put a hardtop on if there's even a chance of rain?

Ap1 guys are always so desperate to make people think they have the better s2k. Seems like "something" envy to me ...

To put it in the words of a sponsor here who shall remain nameless, "they dumbed everything down with the AP2."

tell your friend he hasn't road in my ap1 with a t1r 70mm single sreaming at 9000 rpms! the early ap1 is the most pure driver car. after that they came with alot of creature conforts and crap. Although if you can afford a cr get it!

to me its either cr or ap1 but the choice it ultimatly up to you!
Lol...what are you talking about with creature comforts? The S2000 has always been devoid of any features. By creature comforts, do you mean 2 extra speakers and then eventually an ipod hookup? Cuz...that's really all the extra "creature comforts" the newer ones came with. Oh wait..almost forgot. The 02+ came with a clock on the crappy radio.

I know that those things would totally ruin your driving experience though. :sarcasm:.

OP, I think that the S2000 is a better handling more reliable, more fun, sharper looking, better built car than the Evo. Ap1 or ap2, you can't go wrong. The AP2 adressed a lot of the issues that were present on the AP1. But the AP1 is a bit more fun to drive, IMO. Either one is going to be more fun than the EVO.

The EVO has better potential for straight line speed and is easier to drive fast around a track. Plus the practicality thing.

Decide what you need more.

I was thinking of just saving up and getting an S2000 as a second car instead of selling my Evo.. It would most likely be an AP1 in this case since it's more affordable for me!

Good decision to keep the EVO and still get the S. Daily driving an S2000 does get annoying after a while, I've been doing it since 04'. Good luck with the search!

I will have to say go with an ap1 as well. That’s what I did. 02-02 is what you should look for and on the plus side they are cheaper.

AP1 is more raw than the AP2 and the 9k is why I bought the AP1 over the AP2 4 years ago.

If you are looking for more power the .2 displacement of the AP2 doesn't hurt but again nothing that a pound of boost more wouldn't fix lol.

Nice evo by the way. Always had a sweet spot for those cars just couldn't trust mitsu reliability to every pony up the dough to get one.
