Hi. I am planning to buy an S2000 once I sell my Lancer evolution. I am hoping to find a car that will last me many years. I could really use some advise. I am currently in Philadelphia, but moving to Denver in June. Should I find a car here or wait. I'm thinking that rust is less of an issue in Colorado, but then again there are probably plenty of cars here that don't go out in bad weather. Also if I wait my wife and I will have to share one car from December until June because I am driving my 4-runner out and leaving it at my new house. I feel like west coast cars are better b/c strict emissions reduce modification and dry climate stops rust, but the flip side is having to wait to get my car. At any rate I am looking at what is around here now, and I will look at what is out there when I visit in December. I am also researching a bit. I have not yet decided on AP1 or AP2. I guess I'll take what ever is in good shape.
Anyway thanks for reading. I will be searching this forum a lot over the next year.

I'd probably look for a beater to drive through this winter and sell before moving....no reason to get a S2000 now and drive it in the sand/salt all winter. Plus you'd have 2 vehicles to get to Denver in June.

Default Despite the only response I got to my intro a went ahead and bought one

here is my s2000 I sold my 2006 evo and bought this. So far I’m happy that it gets better gas mileage and insurance is cheaper I also expect I won’t spend $10k on maintenance in the next year which a did in the evo. It handles great but it does feel slow after leaving a 400whp evo.

Default Maybe I can’t post pictures

i tried to post a picture but for some reason it doesn’t seem to have worked. It is a yellow 2005. So far I love it.

That was quick.

It takes a while to get used to these cars. My background was in torque monsters but the S2000 was a wonderful change of pace. The handling is what I was looking for. Plus, there are barely any of them in my metro area.

Very nice looking car. I like that spoiler on the back and the top looks like it is still in good nick. (I watch too much Wheeler Dealers)

Yes the previous owner said it was replaced fairly recently. I did notice that there is rubber weather stripping glued to the canvas beside the window. It is missing on one side. I am going to have to glue some new rubber on, assuming the rubber is meant to be there. I put the cover on because it is raining so Who knows if it leaks, but it looks brand new so I am assuming it will keep the car dry.
