Finally got an S2000! I wanted one since about 2002 and through a little bit of luck picked up a very nice condition 2005. Went through the car top to bottom and at 75k miles, was in remarkably well-kept condition. Lucky for me the original owner religiously went to the dealer for every scheduled service visit. Still, I took the time to replace all the fluids, change the serpentine belt, plugs and coil packs. I also replaced the plastic pieces on the shifter and re-greased. Now with new clutch fluid and new shifter parts, it is smooth like butter.
Compared to my BMW 335i this car is a breeze to work on. My serpentine belt took 1.5 hours in the BMW and all of 10 minutes on the S2000. Plug change took about 20 minutes. I had to rebuild all of the plastic coil connectors, they were so brittle, they all broke when I squeezed the tabs in to remove from the coil pack. That job took about 10 minutes. Went through the engine compartment with a fine-toothed comb and cleaned everything up. It's likely the car never saw rain as I've never seen such a clean 13 year old car.
S2KI is a fantastic forum and glad to be a member. The S2000 gladly joins its stablemates and is an absolute blast to drive.
Congratulations !!! Such a great S2000. I've already bought for my own an AP1 and feel great for your brief about your car !
If you know anything about this type car, pls feel free to share with me ^^
Thanks for the info. Do most of the work myself. Used to be part-owner in 10 auto repair shops. Changed the coils because I saw many +50k motors with brittle coil packs. The spark plug cover makes it like a little oven in there and cooks the coil body and the electrical connector, making both brittle after 6-10 years. Noticed a little crisper throttle response once I changed them.
