Default New S2000 owner in Middle Ga

Just inherited a beautiful Suzuka Blue 2004 , from my mother law who passed away in Feb. She was an awesome Grandmother for my kids and we all miss her. You know she was cool if she had a S2000. I got the BEST father in-law, who not only gave me the car, but flew me to Texas to get it, and gave me gas money to get in back. Wow. I hit the in-law lottery.

The car is in great shape ,with 80K on it. I originally thought the car was super low mileage, but honestly kinda relieved, because I can now drive it without worrying about running up the miles. My father inlaw told me my mother in-law regularly rung it out and drove very fast..LOL

It is 100% stock and I plan on mostly keeping that way, maybe a UK mod and and modify the airbox.
It's a little dusty, but other wise needs nothing.I plan on checking the valve adjustment and detailing her soon.

Welcome to the family! #suzukasquad lol. Also 80k is largley considered low mileage for this car. Remember this car is already a decade out of production and the beauty you hold there is 15 years old. Any other car at that age would have close to 170k miles.

Highly recommend the Billman TCT as preventative maintenance (change it once and never have to worry about it again, you can get one by PMing him on this forum) and a master clutch cylinder replacment as those are known to go out pretty quick. (my 2005 needed a replacment at 58k miles). Other than that enjoy!

Thanks for welcome and input., I know they had problems with the TCT, but not the clutch master cylinder. I have a binder full receipts for all the maintenance done on the car, I will look in there to see if either has been replaced.

Welcome! Suzuka is a great color If you are on facebook, the S2k GA group has a lot of great people and info on track days, meetups, maint days etc.

Jealous of that 525i. Been pining after a bmw wagon for about a year now, but can't see myself giving up new car ease of ownership.

Congrats. Great color!

The only thing lacking on my '06 five years ago when she was adopted was new elastic straps for the roof. Yours are probably shot as well.

Go thru the "new" car maintenance threads but since this is a family car owned by an obvious "car gal" you're probably up to date. Top tier tires are the best performance enhancer for this car. Extreme and Max performance summer tires wear out fairly quickly but since I'm averaging about 5000 miles a year on my car I don't care. I can't drive to the limit of my tires but they feel right.

I'll echo the Billman TCT recommendation. 10 minute swap once you find a 10mm socket and some paper towels.

Awesome, another middle Georgia S2000! Maybe I’ll see you around. I have a ‘03 in Silverstone that I’ve had since new. I just turned 100K fun filled miles. Every time I drive it, I grin from ear to ear. Love my S2000 amd I’m sure you’ll love that one.
