Pseudo New owner
Hello all,
This is my first post here but I'm sort of not new to the forum per say.
I've read a lot of this forums threads over the past 6 months whilst researching the S with a view to a purchase; last week I took the plunge by placing a deposit on a car that I hadn't even seen (It hadn't arrived in at the Honda dealers as yet) but I was assured it would be pretty much the same as the demo car I test drove or I could get my deposit back.
I placed the deposit after having a great experience with the demo car (an 08 car) and was told that the 04 car that was due in would be pretty much exactly the same.
I went back last weekend to see the actual 04 car and to test drive it and here's where I could do with a bit of advice from you all straight away, even before I'm actually a fully fledged owner.
The 04 car stuttered at low speed in 2nd gear; this didnt happen all the time and seemed to be pronounced if I drove over rough road (small potholes and broken tarmac); It seemed to be either a fueling issue or possibly even a clutch issue? My guess was that it was likley a fueling issue as the car only has 24k miles and so I imagine the clutch would be fine, also the clutch seemed ok everywhere else.
On arriving back after the test drive the dealer said they'd look at it prior to me picking the car up this coming Friday so I thought I'd throw this out to you good folks to see what you think before I go back and hand over all my cash.
Anyone here know if this is a known issue with an 04 S? The 08 drove without such issues.
Other issues I spotted were badly kerbed wheels; Are these easy to get refurbished? What do they cost to replace?
I'm hoping Honda come up trumps and sort these niggles prior to me picking the car up on Friday; If they havnt then I'll remain S-less for the time being and get my deposit back and continue the search; But with any luck they'll have sorted it and I'll be a 'proper' owner this time next week.

explaination; then I would certainly walk away... how much are they asking? I wouldn't go over 21K USD OTD. I'd give a little more if the car was in EXCELLENT condition (with those miles), but it appears that this is NOT the case. Here are some things to watch out for https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=271158
I think I would just pass on this one. Good Luck with your search.
