Default Same question different day!

Hello all,
Apologies in advance but I was wondering if I could get some help on a question you guys must get ALL the time!

After a number of years building up a respectable level of no claims bonus I’ve decided to take the plunge and get myself an S2K! (Always wanted one but just couldn’t afford it!)

I reckon i’ve got around 10K to play with and from the checks I have done so far I think I could get myself a low mileage 2004 model. Does this seem about right?

The main question I have though is, when I go test driving and start looking at some possible options, what should I be looking for? There are obvious things such as the hood and stuff but I’m worried that I’m going to spend all this cash on the car and end up with one has been damaged or something and is therefore a complete dog!

Can anyone help me? Any advice would be most appreciated

I don't think you've saved up enough, you won't touch a low mileage 2004 for that money. Have you figured in the transfer, license and insurance costs as well? You may be able to pick up a reasonable priced AP1 for that price. As far as checking out the car, take it to a mechanic you trust and also do a Carfax report.

Yeah $10k isn't near enough to get a nice low mileage 04. I had people interested in my 02 with ap2 conversions for $12k and mine has close to 100,000 already. For $10k you can find an ap1 with around 70k miles, which still isn't bad at all. You will need probably around $14k to get a decent 04-05 model ap2 with around 70k miles.

Whew! Yes,that does make a difference! Whichever car you decide on have it checked out at reputable shop that can thoroughly go over the car. Best of luck and welcome to S2KI.
