you wont be happy with the S. Its a unique car - you either love it or you dont.
Stick with the Z and get a second job or something, otherwise, sell the one you have and get an older one.

you absolutely cannot get a good feel for this car by only hitting vtec once.. the car makes little power below 5k rpms and its a completely different car above 6k.

A lot of people grew up hating hondas, but the whole rice scene has pretty much ended.. all the cheesy modded civics are disappearing. Crap like this shouldn't bother you anyway and there is no stigma associated with the S2000.

Most sports car do not produce a lot of torque. S2k produces 1.5x more hp than torque. Ferrari F355, 360, F430 produce 1.4-1.45x more hp than torque. Thats the nature of high revving engines.

The interior might look dated but its 100x more functional than the 350z interior, and also made from nicer material if you ask me.

To drive: step on gas, raise RPM to 6k, shift at 9 (or 8), and continue. simple

Sounds like your into torque. I'd say it's a battle between torque and sex appeal. IMO the S is about 35% sexier looking than the Z. Fair warning for my biased opinion tho.
haha sex appeal... i took the car back down to the Athens, OH to return to my college days on weekend.. don't worry I just left last year..

As I was pulling up to a light this drunk girl turned the corner with her friends, did the whole double take, the poitn and the.. OMG, 350!!! and she then proceeded to face plant flat into the sidewalk because of her quick reaction to turn and point...

that's better than any MR2 story I've ever had lol..

The S2000 is a lot sexier than a 350 - Its like Nissan stopped modelling it half way through.

I thought that was a little low too. I'd say the S is more like 38% sexier....maybe more if the top is down.

My brother had a 350Z ... great car... but like some said..feels heavy in the corners.
try taking the S for another ride... and dont let the revs drop out of vtec... then tell me you are not having fun.....

Are there ways to mod the ecu and and lower when vtec kicks in?? Could I also rget a stand alone system and retard the timing a bit in lower rpm's to get the torque numbers up??

you cannot mod the OEM ECU, but you can install a piggy back such as apexi neo, or apexi VFAC. These can control A/F and lower vtec engagement. You can see some good gains lowering vtec point 500-800 or so RPM.
