Or you just spend your 000 to pick up more high school girls!! Real nice looking chicks will prefer European sports car over any Honda or Corvette!
I have to say as a bystander in this, and coming from an R129 SL the Boxter S just sucks big time. Yes they are much faster but the interior is horrid and the comfort of the car is a joke. I agree that the S is _much_ faster than my Merc but then again If I spent all that money on one I would be in a rush to get out the other end as well, I pitty anyone that bought the 2.7

At the end of the day you can always fool a badge monkey with a European Badge, but its more about what you can do with the car as a package. Im sure if the average S2k Buyer spent the difference between the boxter and the honda on upgrading it, then the Porsche would be toasted. I already know of guys that spent book price on MR2's + $10,000 and had cars that could eat a 911 for breakfast so bang for buck The S2k aint a bad start.

Not really the right thread to ask this but ......................
The top weighs about 45 lbs. Takes 2 people to lift it on and off or you can built yourself a hoist and do it yourself. It goes over the soft top (in down position). HT secures with 2 windshield latches and 2 rear latches. Takes a few minutes.

Whoops, sorry about that viper. I just finished reading the entire thread. I have realized the error of my ways. But the hardtop was just one of my main question marks. I do live in a pretty cold area. If I ever did want to drive it in the snow. The soft top would not work out that well.

No problem, this thread is already a gazillion pages long, so I guess it's not a big deal.

I have an '00 with the plastic rear window and my first winter was without hardtop (back ordered for 5 months). It was quite "liveable" throughout our very cold winters. Currently, several other locals run their S2000s daily throughout our winters with no hardtop. It's not that bad. With the glass window, you have defroster capabilities and the soft top can take the cold quite well. The hardtop is not absolutely necessary. It's just icing on the cake. It also gives the car a completely different look. I like it for this reason alone.

That MY04 was about the best price that I have seen in my life, but you win some you lose some..

You have a LOT of fortitude.
Actually, if you double the posts per page, it's only 12 pages.

the real question for me is: s2000, 350Z, or wait on the Boss 302

roadster vs. sports coupe vs torque monster i cant decide
The answer is pretty simple. Do I want to be the big dog and show off in the shower. Or do I want to be the dog who smiles to himself when other talk about the big dog showing off in the shower.
