Default soon to be owner of a 04' s2000, like tommorrow.

So I'm totally buying an s2000 on a whim. I have yet to see the car in person, but I got a loan for it for 21.5k and picking it tommororw night if its right. It has 32k miles white, clean title, and the guy owns it outright.

I have boughten many cars before so buying a car is nothing new to me. So I'm basically asking what specifically to look for?

are there common problems are things with s2000 or soft top that go wrong or just anything of the like? mechanical/electrical/ bugs?

Not sure what else to ask, I know the basic stuff, dings, dents, rust, checking the engine bay for any mods etc, but I have a feeling that won't be a problem.

Any help/input/feedback would be appreciated, I'm going to look at it tommororw night with my buddy and both of us combined are pretty knowledgable about cars.

Thanks!
Thomas

Go here for many of the questions going through your head --> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=358040

Here is also a checklist of things to go over when purchasing an S2000
--> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54653

S2000's are great cars but they aren't for everyone. Know what you are getting yourself into. This forum has pretty much everything you need to know about the S2000 in it already so read up. Also a lot of very helpful and mature people. Great community just don't expect the fast and the furious crowd.

04's can have rust around the bump stops on the trunk lid - just make sure its not too bad if its there.

So I picked it up today, got it at a steal of a deal price at 21.1k for an 04 ap2 gpw w/ 32k miles clean title; a few things missing or whatever, but its not a problem to fix. No pics yet, I just got home from driving 3 hours to pick her up. I don't know why I didnt get an s2k earlier. Gotta register her tommorrow, and detail and wax like no other.

Very nice. I remember asking myself that same question in 2002!

Go check out the wash and wax forum for tips, etc. Great info to be found.
