Default spUn the new guy

hello, long time honda ownder and forum lurker thinking about buying a project s2k.

I have an 06 TSX and an element in the family looking to buy a little side project. I ran in to a salvaged ap1 which has been profecionally repaired at a bodyshop. But the car still holds some problems, I am looking for some input as to how much I will end up coughing up (assuming I get the parts off local partouts)

2002 silver 66k miles for 5 digits.

I know some might think I should just buy one with no problems but its a steal and there's nothing I like more than sex and working on a car.

how much will fixing each of these problems run me?
The bad:

-the A/C is not working, its missing the condenser and the lines only.

-the seat belts are not working.

-the passenger air bag needs to be replaced, and also de srs module (srs light is on)

-cruise control is not connected (all is there)

-the car doesnt have a horn

(I hope to get a seat belt off a partout and have it professionally installed)
The rest will probably be DIY.

Thank You for your input

-God Bless

thats the plan although insurance requires an inspection, meaning I need a working seatbelt and air bags.

as for the ac, its a must for now.

I found this great website that shows a well diagramed list of all the nuts and bolts that make up the S2000 and how much they cost. Comes out to 1095.75 for all te parts.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...KA6MT&catcgry5=

so now to find these used for cheap =D

What is your objective with this car? If it is to ba a race car than it need not be titleable and you will remove the aribags and AC anyway. If you want something that you can drive on the street, I would suggest buying a non-fixer upper. How much do you know about the accident? How about the engine? How about the suspension and frame? How does it drive?

The engine drives great, trany is smooth, no problems with the meat and guts of the car its just those amenities that need fixing. It needs to be street legal, it cant be a 100% track car because I dont have a trailer. It was repeared at a great body shop, the frame and everything looks good.

I will have to call my local honda dealership and ask for an installation quote, (assuming I have all the parts)

BTW car cost: $6,500

(so I can afford 1,500-2,000$ in getting the a/c, seatbelts etc. fixed)

called Pacific Honda quoted me 660$ for labor whic is good. I know there are some honda certified mechanics out there that might be able to do it for less, anyone know of any in Southern California

EDIT it looks like I might not go for it, the passenger air ba is way too expensive, although all the others are very cheap when using car-part.com
