Buy the car that speaks to you.

I personally wouldn't be able to live with the Elise/Exige on a daily basis. These cars are very raw.

The decision depends on your intended use of the vehicle.

As i stated before, i wouldn't be daily driving my lotus OR my s2000. They'd both be for leisure and/or weekends...basically i'd drive it anytime i wasn't going to work or school since work is 35 miles away and school is car theft central.

I definitely wasn't impressed by the elise's engine...didn't have the wow factor that I expected. But it was fun to drive nontheless, and as some of you have already stated, it's a status symbol. I felt like a baller in that car lol.

So yeah...i've pretty much figured that if i got the lotus, i'd be doing it purely for status. I mean, i'd enjoy it as well since it's a fun car to drive...but it didn't seem to have THAT MUCH over the s2000 to justify $15k. So basically, $15k would go towards boosting my ego...that's about it.

We'll see tho...i'll keep it on the list for a bit whiel ithink abou tit. Thanks for the opinions...i'm open to more =)

I have heard ppl say they will cancel your warranty for any code picked up by the computer for driver error. e.g. one missed shift!

An Eclise or Exige would whip us a new one on the Dragon or a road course.

But of course thats basically the sole purpose of that car. And it performs fantastically at it.

220 hp in a 2000lb rwd car goes A LONG way.

That's the Exige S (the supercharged one). And that's in the $60k range...i'm not even considering that cuz of the price =)

Elise/exige only runs 190hp.

My friend is selling his NSX for an '07 Exige S and I gotta say, that car is RAW! The engine sound was nicer than I thought.
The exterior is beautiful(IMO) and the build quality is pretty good too.
I didn't get a chance to drive one, but I'm sure it'll be more fun than an S.

But don't even think about getting one as a DD. The interior is REALLY tight.
It took me about 20 sec just to get inside the car trying not to put dirt on the seat/steering wheel/interior.

The fun/attention-getter factor is superb w/ the elise/exige, but when it comes to practicality, S2000 wins hands down.
The Lotus is a car for pure weekend joy-driving, the S is a fun car that one could use on a daily basis.
my 2 cents.
