Default Thinking about getting an S2K

Hey guys,
I drive a 2005 350z and I was at the Honda Dealership yesterday and I'm hooked on the S2000. I'm thinking about sellin my Z and getting one now. Anyone else made the switch? I know the S2K doesnt have the torque but with a little work I've heard I can get it running with Z's and Mustangs. Anybody got any tips on what to look for when buying? I heard go with the ones with the higher redline I think thats before 05 right?

There has been many posts about 350 v s2k / former z owners that have switched over or are thinking about switching over. Search around this subforum and you will come up with numerous hits, several within the past few weeks. There are two basic varients, MY00-03 (often called AP1) and MY04-current (often called AP2). Although there are tweaks and changes every year, the AP1 had the higher redline engine and many consider it a 'rawer' car. The AP2 has a lowered redline (still in 8s) but has more torque and many consider it a more comfortable car. Search around, drive a few different models and see what you think.

Are you referring to the "my interior looks like an Altima" mistake, or the "why the hell did Nissan put these funny, mismatched doorhandles on here" mistake??

j/k

I've driven the Z plenty of times - you will be much happier with the S - it's an incredible value.

What are the first upgrades that people do on S2000s? I was thinking some kind of short ram, hks exhaust, and gears. Do a lot of people just do a full pumpkin swap? I've been looking at videos and s2000s pull on z's when they have gears..

Yeah if I decide to go with the S it's probably gonna be about a month are so before I sell the Z. I would post pics, but I guess I have to be a Premier member or something..
