Default Tips when buying a s2000

Hello all,
I currently drive a rsx. A friend offered a large sum of money to me for the vehicle if i sold it "as is" to him. After some consideration I accepted his offer and will soon be out looking for a slightly used S2000. What id like to know is some tips on what possible problem areas to watch out for as a sign of abuse or neglect. Also any common problems certain years have? Or any other helpful information you wish you had when purchasing your s2000's. Thank you all in advance and I look forward to becomming an active memeber of the s2ki family.

Brandon

see if the oil is low, see if you can run a compression and leakdown test (i think its called a leakdown) i would also buy a first owner car and buy from somone who probally babied the car, i wouldnt buy an s2000 from a 22 year old with a 1000cc sport bike sitting next to his s2k.

haha, that is the normal things i would check. I currently have my eye on a 03 w/ 8k. even at such low mileage i want to be 100 percent sure its a sound vehicle. Also he claims he has a 100k warranty. How could i confirm he infact has the warranty?

8k miles huh...engine, tranny and LSD "should" be ok. I would look out for tire wear (hate to replace tires after buying a car), soft top blemishes and body panels (possible accident).
