Default S2000 pricing

Hello everyone I'm new here from clubrsx.com. Can everyone post up the price they got their S2000 for? I mean everything including tax, interest, etc. And also tell me what the price was before that? I really want the RSXTypeR but I don't think it's debuting here next year. So my other option is a S2000, hopefully, it wouldn't be too expensive for me. I called this one dealer up and he told me that a good price, would be the sticker price. Is that still true? I know it was in high demand before but what about next summer, would the demand still be that high? Hopefully, I can purchase it in the summer of 2002. I was also wondering if the price was even negotiable, because I don't want to walk in thinking I can bid below MSRP while they're thinking I'm a total fool. I'd appreciate any informative response. Thanks a lot!!!

I have seen s2ks sell for as low as $31,000 ($1,740 under list) here in the DC area.

However, most people who want to take delivery off the truck ... no test drives, no sitting in the dealer's lot ... have been paying right around sticker.

Have fun and good luck,
Derek

1) No RSX type R for these glorious United States. At least not for the short term.
2) Prices vary widely from state to state. I would say that if you were able to get your car off the truck (no test drives which is what you should demnad), MSRP is about as good as you're gonna get.
3) Tax, lic., reg. will also vary widely from state to state. CA for example hoses you on vehicle registration. Other states charge a flat fee no matter what the "value" of the car.

Not much help, but good luck.

As a final thought, I hope you realize that the RSX and the S2000 are absolutely nothing alike. They don't drive, ride, feel, sound, or look the same. I am not talking down to you, I just want to make sure you know what you're getting. A few people have bought Stooks expecting a Z3 cruiser/convertible only to be deeply disappointed.

I know the RSX and S2000 are two different cars but I'm comparing them because I love both of them, hehe. I live in the Chicago area, I'm not sure what the demand is for the car though. I heard there's a Suzuki blue color coming out next year, not sure if it's true though. Does anyone know if it'll cost me over $35K if I buy it next year? I'm financing the car!

RSXTypeR,

Don't worry if the dealer thinks that you are a fool. Many of them will try to belittle you as much as possible to get you to pay them more money. It's just part of their game. Two years ago I told a sales rep. at a local Honda dealer that I wouldn't pay over $30 for one and I would wait until the price came down to that before I would buy. He said that the cars were going for $8k to $10 and they would never even go down to sticker. I keep going back and talking to him every couple of months. A couple of months ago he offered one to me at $1k below sticker. He now says that he thinks they may get down to $30k, but only in a couple of years. I think that I'll have a good shot this winter. There are more pressures driving prices down them up. The newness of the model is gone, most people who must have one already do, no automatic drives away half of the potential drivers, the spring/summer convertible selling season is almost over, etc. The market for the S2000 is very thin because there are not that many buyers (relative to most other cars) and there are not that many cars available. This leads to greater price variances. Come to a price that YOU think is reasonable and stick to it. I'd be willing to be that eventually a dealer will take you up on it. Good luck.

The general consensus on this board is that you can find an S2000 for MSRP pretty much anywhere if you look (and haggle) hard enough. All of the dealers in my area want $3000 over retail but I was able to buy mine at MSRP with very little negotiations. Good luck!

I bought mine for $31,100 a few weeks ago in NC. Taxes and tags added another $500.
