Warning! Don't buy a S2k from SCKars!
My shop did a oil analysis and said there was copper in the oil. I'm not that knowledgable about cars, so I don't know what it means.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the car? Hate to say it, but if I saw the car in that condition when I went to look at it, I would've just walked away. If it's in crappy condition when they show it to a customer, I don't think they'll do a good job fixing the issues either. Best of luck to you.
I'm sorry I don't feel at strongly about this as you guys. I guess I don't see where the dealer made any false claims?
"Clean as the day it left the show-room" is not a factual question. Its an opinion. Same way you read so many car ads with "Loaded!" Does loaded mean the factual every single factory & dealer option in the highest trim package? No, it means in the ad's author's opinion its got a lot of equipment.
Saying you flew out there to discover how poor of condition that car was in is on you. Now, I bought my S2000 without driving it or seeing it person before booking my flight also. I requested tons of pics: each wheel, tire, and body panel in good natural light. Interior defects, holes in top, major scratches or blemishes. So, I had an accurate idea of what the car looked like.
A dealer should have no problem doing this, or even making a video of the car running and driving to send you. Granted it'll be a crappy cell phone video, but still. If they don't do the work here, that means they're waiting for the next sucker.
Get under the car. Ideally you could get the car on a lift, but poking your head under with a flashlight can suffice. Knowing the s2k has a cast aluminum oil pan (from your own research) you should know the check it for leaks or saturation. I'm sorry, but you messed that one up.
Dealers that get these cars don't know the history. Figure they took the risk on it before you did. Patch it up, and sell it for what it is. They don't know the abuse history or if its been in un-documented accidents and such. They bought it before you and probably know less about the specific model (the S2k) than you do.
I'm not saying the dealership is correct in these cases. All I'm saying is that the OP didn't do nearly everything he could of to avoid this. Further, that S2000 with the integra interior - Its been said. It was bought as auction as a salvage, they threw the cheapest parts that would fit into it. (atleast they're from the correct manufacturer, not like old corvette seats with a Dodge steering wheel).
And yea, sucks they're waiting for suckers to walk in through the door.

sent them an email lettng them know their cars are advertised as being "like new" and told them the Civic seats and Airbag look stupid in a car that is known to have OEM leather, the wheels are very obviously wrong and that I woukld be posting their site as a place to AVOID like plague. Got a responce that asked if I was intersted in the car, my remark was "obviously you read email as well as you put your salvage cars together, quite bad"

When I was looking for an s2k. I called sckars to see if the s2k I was looking at was still there and the guy said it was still there. So I drove south 2 hours to find out that the car I had been calling about the past couple days was sold the day before. Then they apologize and offer me other s2ks that were beat up... Never went back there again.
