The $299 leasing deal has come up twice this year, and yes, the "usual" best time to buy is when the new models start to show and dealers want to clear out the previous model.

This year, other than color changes, there are no changes to the car, so if you can drive a sweet deal on an MY06, you'll be completely current.

That said, the absolute rockin' best deals are when a car sits around a dealer for a year or so and doesn't sell (normally because the dealer is a tool and wants too much)... Sometimes those cars have some additional mileage, but I know one guy who paid just over 26K for a new MY02 car back when the MY04 models came out! That's the price, not OTD.

Anyway, good luck in the hunt. Sometimes patience is a virtue, but other times you'll lose the car you want. Get the color that you like best if you're buying new. I think that's more important than folks give credit for.

That is a crazy price, so you got them to take about 6K off of MSRP?

Yeah, that's a steal if it's truly OTD (out-the-door)...

I'd expect folks to be able to get 30-31K now as a low price before tax, title, and license.
