Question for those with an ASM hood. Is it safe to use the SOS hood dampers on the FRP hood? Or is there dampers that do work with it?

It just depends on how rigid the hood is. For my FRP hood it was a no go, also the SOS kit needs the hood itself to have have holes in it (same as the spot in the OEM) that's right above where the hinge mounts. You might need to add them to the hood if you want to try out the SOS kit.

I can tell you for the Sebion (I'm pretty sure) FRP hood that Nick has the SOS kit would apply enough pressure to bow up the hood a little bit when closed. I had a similar problem with mine, but mine is more delicate so it was a bit worse. I worked with Jeff at SOS to have a replacement damper made that was 10lbs instead of the 15lbs that come with their kit. It worked better for my application, but was still a bit to strong. Nick ended up taking them and it almost completely removed the bowing when his hood is closed, it's still there but it's very very slight. If you do decide to give the SOS kit a try give Jeff a call and ask him to order you a set of the dampers that I had custom ordered. I think they are more ideal for FRP hoods. I'll double check with Nick, but when I last talked to him the low pressure dampers did not have a problem holding his hood up, but you do have to walk the hood up. It doesn't fly up and out of you hands like normal.

I'm in the process of having custom hood props made right now that are self contained within the OEM hinges. There will be one on each side which you will manually flip down to hold the hood up. If these work out well I can get you a set of these once they are completed.

I think it will be fine as they're double skinned instead of a single sheet of frp.
