I still need to weigh the carbing 4pt bar (that is the most impressive part, from feel it seems to be 1/3rd the weight of the Cusco chromoly). Also I have a Dash sports cage for one of my staff's S13, I'll take photos of that too for comparison's sake.

Lastly, I talked with Carbing the other day and they informed me that the design of all of their AP1 cages are to comply with JAF regulations. I dont have the JAF regulation rule book, but they made it a point to tell me that all of their designs and specs for Carbing and DASH sports cages are made to match JAF regulation in Japan.

Hey Ben,
Aestetically I thought the craftsmanship was not that great or the hardware they use. The powdercoat job wasn't up to par either. All in all I just didn't dig it.Also, I didn't think I was gonna track my evo but it's getting to the point where the EVO is becoming a full fledge track car and I need a legal track cage in it.
By the way, I buy stuff from you all the time. Wating for Varis generators and and carbon fender vents from you.

I'll need to take a close look at the dash sports cage I have here. I'll post pics for all to make their own judgement call.

Yeah,
it's something definetly up to the buyer. I'm sure the polished ones look 100 times better.
I lurk on this forum all the time. LOL! thats How I found out you had the Keys racing wheel. Score. I love that thing.
Bump for Bulletproof.

any pics of the full rollcage? Curious about the parameters of the 8-pt cage (diagonal on rear hoop, sidebar, etc...)

^^^ I agree, from the pictures supplied I can tell that Carbing has great welds and a very nice-looking finished product, but I knew that before. I would love to see the 8-point cage for this car -- the S13 cage pics would give us a little bit of an idea, but it's not a cage for a convertable. Good job of building up some hype for your products though!

I wont be seeing my 8pt alum cage for 2-3 months, so there wont be any pics for a while. There is no side bar option, you'd need to use a universal side bar (cusco for example makes varying widths of side bars). For the rear I chose an X design to connect the rear hoops.
