Default which ecu Mugen, Spoon, or J's ?

hey guys im relativly new to this forum im an owner of an 00 S. my current mods r aem v2 intake and have stock exhaust piping going to a single aftermarket axle back. this is my plans for my car, i mite purchase an aftermarket header or test pipe soon but if i dnt do that i def want to get some ecu to have my car tuned. i have looked around but not entirerly sure what to get. this r a few this that ive been looking at Mugen n1 ecu, Spoon sport ecu, and J's Racing ecu. i dnt wanted to get vafc or aem ems those 3 r my choices. i was wondering which of the 3 is better, thatll work good w/ my current set up?

You may want to look into the Greddy Emanage ultimate.

None of the ECU's you mentioned can be tuned. I would go with a Emanage as stated above or some other standalone unit that has tuning capabilities.

he probably had it "custom". Anyways, I had the spoon ecu and can say I lost about 7-8whp on the dyno with it. Since you have MY00 I would get an 02+ ecu and tune it with vafc, get a 70mm single, and you should be making good power. I wouldnt waste money on ecu's that are $1200+ for minimal gains. Unless you have ITB's, or FI I wouldnt even get an ems.
my $.02

If your looking to build your car more in the future I would say AEM ems.

Another vote for the AEM EMS. No matter what you ever do to your car, this will be plenty to tune it with. Turbo? No problem. Nitrous kit? The AEM EMS has a special program for nitrous. Don't waste all that money on ECU's that are programmed for all J's racing or spoon parts. The J's ECU works perfectly if you also buy the J's intake, header, and exhaust. With mix and match combinations, you need something tunable like an Emanage ultimate or AEM EMS.

all of the Japanese companies ECU's are made specifically for specific setups, and work very well when the correct balance of parts is used.

expecting to buy one of their ECU's and just make power is completely missing the point.

With the right parts, even the factory ECU can be tuned! You need to replace the prom with an eeprom or an emulator. Then get the right software!
