It's a straight up copy of the Hytech.
Not at all, with that much stroke Hytech would have likely welded up and shrunk those exhaust ports to improve exhaust gas velocity with that much stroke. Keeping the stock small plenum was a good move for sure, especially if he did go ahead and enlarge the valves. (?) Velocity is everything and bigger isn't always better. There is likely a fair bit more power to be made by futher optimizing his head for this application.

How did you get around the wall lining issue? I was wanting to do the same buildup but the whole lining issue scared me away because i didn't have the cash to sleeve it. If you do i would love to see your setup. Even though i sold my itbs 3 weeks ago I still have a f20 laying in my garage waiting to be built
btw do you live in ohio?
If you do I would love to see your build up.

H22A's have the same type of lining as a F20C (FRM) and the pistons I used are meant to be used with stock sleeves. Mahle is the only company I found that has produced a FRM friendly piston, allowing me to run higher compression. The only other option I had, with stock sleeves, was to use oem H22A pistons. And yeah I feel you on spending the cash to resleeve a block. I do live in Ohio, just east of Columbus. Feel free to PM me.

Fleming's Engine Service. They're located north of Utica off of SR13.
Do they have experience with the F20C or are you the 1st ?

I don't know if they've done work on F20C's in the past and I didn't ask since they have done work for me previously. I do know that they have done quite a bit of work on other Honda engines, just not sure about F20C's.

Maybe a stupid question, but are you able to keep the oil squirters? It seems that with some of the strokers out there, you have to block them off.

OK, went back and read the article again, it says they can be used if you modify the nozzle. I would assume an interference issue with the big end of the rod? How did you handle this?

Good job by the way and good luck. Hope it turns out well. I think there will be a lot of people following your lead if so.

I didn't try to mock up the bottom end with the squirters in but I did put one squirter into the block when it was bare. I couldn't tell from this whether or not there would be interference with the big end of a rod but the squirter nozzles are angled and with the increased rod angle, the rod beam would be very close to coming into contact with the nozzles. This is why they were plugged.

I don't think blocking off the squirters is a good idea, remember the first IP 2.5 kits that blocked the squirters suffered failures...the stroker kits that followed retained the squirters and have been working just fine since...
