We'll see how power greedy I get once it goes on the dyno. Btw the logo in your sig of itb's firing is badass.

30-40 grit kinda rough eh? I think you coulda went a lot smoother than that and still not had to worry about fuel atomization. I've used finer on cast iron heads for carb cars, you can create a cross hatch that will slightly swirl the air and help atomization thus allowing to use finer grits, feel free to tell me if you know something I dont, I have not done any work on aluminum heads, but I have used a flow bench on cast.

Santa Claus was good to me this year. I installed my new Skunk 2 70mm throttle body and port matched it to my intake manifold on Tuesday. Here's some pics.

I also received a Mugen fan switch, injector clips, and a Berk testpipe.

[QUOTE=kial007,Dec 23 2007, 02:22 PM] I finished assembling my engine, so here are some updated pics.

Here's a pic of the chipped idler gear.

28 degrees of peak timing when 20 degrees is the most that is beneficial and knock starts at about 22. And way too much timing in the lower rpm's too...so basically it was just knocking all the way up. And it was also runing ~ 13.9-14.0 A/F with the timing.

Anyway, with the A/F down at 12.7-12.9 and 20 degrees of timing it made 251whp 188wtq on a dynapack that stock AP1's usually get 200.
Sounds more like a ticking time bomb. 13.9-14.1 is out of line for the air fuels at wot. What was it tuned on? I assume this was 91 octane?

We dynoed a 2005 s2000 with EMS a few weeks ago. The only mods were k&n intake, test pipe, and exhaust. The car made 210whp on our Load type dyno. 231whp on Inertia dyno (dyno jet) I think it may be possible to get another 15 whp with headers and some radical cams on the stock longblock.

All the Best,
Max

Thats still pretty rough, I did my intake manifold runners with 180 grit and inlet with 320. I used the crosshatch I was talking about, I realize the head is totally different story as it has to atomize fuel, curious if anyone knows what grit you could go to without worrying about fuel issues.
