The K-Pro for the MY00-05 S2000 requires a few OEM parts to get it to work:

I hope this ends any confusion.

so is that also means, they not going to work anything out for our DBW bothers right?

I know there is a dyno for the 06-07 reflash on hondata's site, but has anyone on this forum dynoed with it yet?

From what I've seen on a lot of different cars, if you have DBW you have to convert to cable for standalone. I'm not sure that this is always the case, but if you're switching to standalone, I don't think converting to cable throttle is that much of a hassle.

You need an EMS which can be used in combination with the factory ECU. The factory ECU needs to be used to control the DBW/VSA functionalities, while the EMS controls everything else.
Hondata used my S2000 to develop the reflash you are referring to.

The hondata reflash dyno doesn't really look that impressive though. If it didn't lower the vtec, it would have no appeal at all. It seems like I could just get a vtec controller and lower the vtec with similar results, but I'd be scared of the ECU freaking out.

Use the search feature. Read the article by Hondata. Understand that there is more involved then simply changing the VTEC engagement point.

I just got back to SEMA and spoke with Doug himself. We've done projects with Doug in the past and I have always received enlightening information whenever I speak with him.
In the future, the 06+ DBW cars should be able to be tuned by using the OBD2 port. So we should be seeing a USB to OBD2 type of cable available.
Positives:
1) Less hardware to carry around or mount
2) work off factory ecu - good for future smog checks
3) retain traction control..and more.
Negatives: It may not have all the features like Kpro. (Keep in mind that these features are at its current state during our conversation. Things/features may be improved by the time it's released)
1) No extended boost map: usually on an all motor map we have 10 colums to tune with. If we select boosted we get about 3 more. For boosted setups Doug is currently using the first 7 for negative pressure and the last 3 for positive pressure.
2) probably will not have boost control or gear selection features but these are things we could add on separately.
At SEMA Oscar Jaskson and Jr. had their Rotrex powered 06 S2k on display. Doug is using the above method to tune their setup making 400whp at peak of 12psi. I think theres a thread somewhere in the boosted forums about this supercharger and this car.
Release date still TBD.
