I removed my engine torque damper because I thought it's stiffness was causing vibrations that were causing my manifold to crack. Since it's been off my manifold has been ok but it's making a whole batch of fun new noises. Is there a way to adjust it so it can be installed but have a little give to it? Is there even a piston in the design?

 

u are thinking a lil too much imo... i think it is supposed to be stiff

 

wouldnt it be the opposite? the stiffer engine damper prevents the exhaust mani from cracking due to engine movement.
