I got a question for you guys that have tuned the itb with the map sensor.

I noticed when I was driving on the road, I had to be very gentle on the throttle (can't move it too suddenly). All the pedal movements had to be gradual. When I suddenly open up the throttle, the engine just BOGS!

I think I have to mess with the Accel settings but not exactly sure how to tune it. What kind of settings are you guys using for that?
Or do you just have to be easy on the gas?

Oh btw, at the moment, I'm on entirely stock exhaust and AEM EMS.
do you have a wideband installed? It sounds like your going either way rich or way lean...when I got a gas tank full of water a few months ago, and the engine just wasnt getting the gas it wanted, everytime I gave it any gas, it bogged terribly - to the point where the car was damn near undriveable - and I was stuck on I-75 in the middle of downtown Atlanta...not a good place to be with car troubles. Turns out there was so much water in fuel that the combustion process was extremely lean. I increased the injector duty cycles, and fixed the problem...at least until I got it to a friends house and could get the bad gas out and the good gas in - then all I did was reload my original map, and all was good.

...and in direct answer to your last question, I'm NEVER easy on the gas

BAD GAS?

Usual I take some Pepto Bismol or something

I'm noticing that when I just stomp on the gas (large dTPS), I get a lean spike until everything settles down again.

I'm just wondering what accel settings everyone was using to combat that lean spike cause I'm pretty sure it occurs for all ITB guys.

I don't get a lean spike...the computer is more than quick enough to make rapid fuel adjustments, you must have a lean cell or too much timing in one

Thats the weird thing.

At full load say for 4000 rpm, the AFR is bang on at 13.3 when its accerating from say 2000rpm upwards.

If I'm at 4000 rpm low throttle and all of a sudden I stab the throttle all the way in, it'll bog.

your fuel at lower 4000 rpm load is prolly lean cheak your fuel and/or timing at 4k from 0% load to full, there should be a gradual increase

Alright, I did a bit of tuning in my driveway and I seem to have helped the bogging problem a little bit.

If you guys are at idle and all of a sudden stomp it to 100% throttle, do you get a lean spike which tapers down after?

Right now thats what I'm still dealing with. I think on the road, it should be much better but I haven't had a change to test it out yet.

yeah i used to get that lean spike, play around with the accel pump....

stomp on it when the pump is not on, just your map... then adjust accordingly to getrid of the lean spike.

It's dangerously lean when I turn down the accel pump. I'm getting close though, it's going to take a bit more fiddling around with.

oh cool, yeah for fuel that's what you need... but for the rest yeah it is included, vacuum block, tps, map sensor adapter, etc. you just need to be creative when installing it. hopefully you order the kit with the throttle linkage. if not, you have to make your own mount to fit the stock cable or use the new cable which is additional work.

also when you order the kit, it comes with the jenvey foam filter which doesnt fit... he does have a screen filter though to filter big particles.... it goes in between the tb and the horns, i have em.
might you have a picture of the fuel line that goes into the ITB so I can compare it to my stock one.
