Default Spoon fixed damper kit

i want to upgrade from the stock suspension. i track my car once a year in the bahrain F1 circuit and DD my car. i dont mind a harsh ride at all though. i dont like to have adjusable coilovers and get confused on choosing the best setup.

is the spoon fixed damper kit and spoon progressive springs a good choice? is it a good improvment over stock?

thanks,

how about koni yellows and some good springs to match? i think would be better and works out cheaper than spoon setup. unless your real keen on spoon products.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think that Koni yellow shocks are an improvement over a set of Spoon-spec Showa dampers in any way -- except that they are much cheaper and you can adjust the damping, although I would trust Spoon's/Showa's damping more than anything I could find within 7 clicks from "hard" to "soft."

I would also like to know more about the Spoon fixed dampers though, I talked to a couple guys who had them and they said that they were good for what they were, but they ended up upgrading to fully adjustable models, which I don't really care about on my dd.

I would assume that by the time you start out-driving the fixed Spoon coilovers you would need something much more hardcore -- the Spoon fixed dampers are not very harsh from what I understand (have heard that they are comfortable for DD); the Koni shocks are softer than stock but have a more progressive feel, so you can feel the limit coming better than stock. Personally, I think that after a couple laps you should be able to feel the limits on just about any setup though.

spoons are nice.

another good and 'safe' selection would be grabbing 2008 S2K CR suspension components (made to spec by honda factory in jdm-land). shocks and springs are stiffer over both ap1 and ap1 cars, nice upgrade for any track/auto-x driving, but still great for daily driving. then you also grab the sway bars (front and rear), which are very affordable and also stiffer than stock. the key thing here is it's honda that's made the specs and they aren't OVERLY stiffened like many aftermarket co's do....

maybe call majestic honda in RI...they can sell to you. prices will be decent considering they're OEM parts...but its a 2 month wait!

also of note - eventho they come from japan they are NOT a 'jdm spec' suspension, as the CR is for the USA (and maybe europe) only...and are stiffer than any s2k suspension. the S2000 Type-S in Japan (the CR equivalent) actualy has a softer suspension than the CR (as per honda making it more of a 'mountain run' car...which is more commonplace in japan).
