I know they're not your typically-glorified JDM tuners, but they were able to release some actual horsepower figures on their website, which is more than I can say for Brian Crower and his cams that were released a few months ago.

So apparently Skunk2 was able to extract a healthy +23 hp and +23 lb/ft in the midrange and a decent +26.8 hp/+17 lb/ft at the peak tuned with an AEM EMS and their own:

Stage 2 cams
70mm exhaust
header
short ram intake

dyno for reference:

Now they're saying the cams alone will elicit 9 lbs torque midrange and 12 hp peak, which is decent I suppose if they retain the same drivability as stock. Specs of the cams:

What do you guys think? I know they're not J's Racing or Hytech, but they certainly don't cost as much as them. More info here:

http://www.skunk2.com/Engine/index2....=camtuners2000

Oh and they're also saying that if you can attain the following horsepower figures with their "cookbook":

STEP 1

Until someone tests them, I will stick with Hytech's cams. One thing I can say is they at least give us some info. Would be interesting to see what they would do in my engine. At the price it may be hard to beat them. Im sure someone will test them here soon.

Yeah, their products cost at least 50% less than the equivalent of your average JDM company while probably making the same (if not more) power. And their cams are about $800 which isn't bad either.

There's also a Stage 3 cam in development, but they have yet to release figures for it yet.

well at 835 a cam, that's over 1600 bucks for the pair; i doubt that's a helluva lot cheaper than what john's charging for his (if it's cheaper at all)

Skunk2 Stage is $800 for the pair + $500ish for springs/retainers. Skunk2 is cast.

Hytech is $1300 to $1400 just for cams. $1200+ for IRL valve springs/retainers.

Both great cams, I am sure Hytech will make more power, but is it worth the cost. It is up to the owner. I have a set of both coming to me.

I agree, I'm sure Hytech's will make more power, but we should still be able to see hp figures despite their reputable.

I dont know where you heard it was single but ,if this same exhaust used is the same one they have been selling for a few years, it is a Invidia dual exhaust knock-off.

They have two exhausts for the s2k: Mega Power and Mega Power R. The Mega Power is a 70mm pipe that splits into two 60mm pipes, which is a dual and is available on their website. The Mega Power R is the one they used in the dyno and is a single 70mm, but this hasn't been updated on the website yet.
