How much did you get those from?

Should be in for the Susquehanna SCCA event on the 27th...

Since this discount option has been very popular...

SATurday August 27th Autocross

Bowie Baysox Stadium in Bowie, MD is the location of the next Capital Driving Club autocross on SATURDAY August 27th.

$10 Discount on Second Slot

To help increase interested in the August 27th event at Bowie Baysox Stadium, we are offering the following special.

For anyone paying for a second slot, the second slot will be $10 off. So if you are a member the second slot for a member will only be $20. If the second slot is for a non-member the cost will be $30 (rather than $40).

The second slot can also be used the same driver (e.g. they would drive in two heats) or for a guest.

If you sign up for a second slot, just type "Second Slot" in the Notes Section. Otherwise, we may think you mistakenly submitted duplicate reservations.

-Several people used the second slot for a guest (some that never autocrossed with CDC)
-Many participants used the second slot to get 12 runs
-Some used the second slot to be a point autocross in the 6 morning runs (since only the first 6 counted for points) then treated the afternoon as a TNT by trading cars with other two slot participants

This offer is only extended for this event at Bowie Baysox Stadium on Saturday August 27th, 2011.

If you have any questions, let me know at capitaldriving@yahoo.com.

Signed up for this double whammy with CDC. It'll be my first time with them.

Hey bud. It was OK. The course was a little different than the norm, and I liked it. The Yokohamas are definitely less grippy than the Dunlops. I was on 215 front and 255 rears, and was the first car off in the morning. It was about 63 degrees out and slippery. I would have said this regardless, but the feeling was only exacerbated having come from Hoosiers and warm temps the week before. I hit cones all but the last run, and it was frustrating because I was sliding into them simply based on the slipperiness of the tires. I also had a huge amount of wheelspin at the start -- at rpms as low as 2,500 on launch. I was about 2 seconds behind the leader (Ron Dotts) (3rd heat), and I think the Hoosiers would have given that difference to me. I wish I could have swapped them out, but had to leave for work and could only register once. I was 0.3 seconds behind the 2nd place driver who was on Goodyear R Comps (the new ones).

My purpose was fulfilled inasmuch as I wanted to test the balance of the car, but I am competitive, and wanted to f@$gin win!! If I had more time/money I would get Dunlops as my rain tires, but after the NSTC, I am not running 255s on the front of my car. I only have 215 advans that would work without buying more tires.

I worked timing, and wanted to shoot half of the drivers since they didn't have numbers on their cars, and some had the wrong numbers. It caused problems, but I did my best to remedy the issues. We only had one three minute pause to get things sorted out.

I wish the courses as Cumberland were more varied (i.e. sweepers, etc), but they are inherently constrained as a result of the layout. They really do the best they can up there, and the people are great.

I will have to return to take care of Mr. Dotts. His Corvette should not have beat me by two seconds He's a great driver, though. Gotta get him to WDCR in B Stock so we can deal with this...

Overall, good event.

I think Ron is one of the faster C4's still competing. It's a true gran sport, that is well sorted. He lives up in State College....WDCR is a bit of drive for him. I think it would be great if he, Eric and you could get a bit of rivalry going, though. It would do nothing but help all of you guys get faster having that competition (like it has for STR). There seems to be a bit of a revolt brewing among the regulars with Cumberland. Everyone seems pretty fed up that they won't allow someone else to do the course. We'll have to see how it plays out.

As much as I would love to compete regularly against Eric K and Ron, I think I am leaning towards STR still. I really feel that the camaraderie and competition is improving us all. I also think that, although my car is most competitive in BS, it is competitive enough in STR to win locally and at Divisionals. With Brian K joining next year, it will be even more fun. I will probably do only modifications that are BS and STR legal (like shocks), and if I get frustrated enough in STR, then go with a Flash Pro, since it is easily reversible. The car would still be BS legal for events where I need everything she's got. Plus, it's cheaper. I really don't like the cost of A6's and the limited life. Although I detested the slipperiness of the Yokohama AD08's, they made me realize that there is a huge element missing from stock classes (planning around much more sliding) than on the race rubber. It's like the car has more power on street tires. I spun on run 3 or 4, and basically needed to turn around. I revved it up, dropped the clutch, and spun the 180 degrees while accelerating for the remainder of the course in a nice drift from a stop. Never possible on Hoosiers.

I hope Nationals goes well.

Is Brian going to Co-drive with you next year? I know he is looking to play in STR. He is meticulous in car set-up...I think you guys can take it to the STR field, even at some tours, with just shocks and lots of prep and testing. I would probably do the flashpro...sooner than later IMO (meaning for the beginning of next year). Like you said, it can be reversed quickly for BS.

Brian is meticulous. Yep. Did I say Brian K? I meant H. But K will probably drive my car too at some point.
