2011 Track Junkie Thread
Hey guys, we got another class C 1st place win at 24Hours of Lemons at CMP this past weekend! (21st out of 80 overall)
Still need to post pictures, I know, I've been lazy. To my excuse, I got back home at 7am and went straight to work on monday. Needless to say I was not very productive at work that day.
The car ran great exept several mechanical failures that can only happen with Lemons cars. First, the key fell out from the ignition on the straightaway and I had to lock the brakes and slide off since the last thing I wanted is for the steering lock to engage half way through the turn! The key was found and this time ziptied into the ignition.
During the first couple of laps on the second day part of the exhaust fell off and hot exhaust gases melted the wires for the fuel sensor, therefore causing the fuel gauge to go up instead of down
The best part was me driving the car for 2 hours in heat and inhailing all of the exhaust getting in the cabin. Needless to say I was out of it by the end.
Can't wait to go race again at Summit Point!

They have no fear.
Also I think every car in the entire field was lapping faster then my best in the Vette. 2:12's and faster. I can't imagine getting smoked by a Kia at that track..
So we finished 28th or so at the new years event, and we kinda sandbagged it for a lot of the race to attempt to finish. Looks like we will be fairly evenly matched as long as our engine holds out...

Shoot, PrincesS went faster than that!

I wish I could get there someday.

Also, the other thing that looked interesting on TV was turns 14, 14a, I'm pretty sure it is the angle that the camera covered it from. From that angle, it did not look much like a turn at all. I expected a lot more passes under braking there but very very few.

It was awesome to see how the lead cars(Roush Mustang and Turner BMW) take the upper Esses!!
