civicguy,

This is my KW V3 setup info from my datasheet:

Bump=bottom of shock, 1/4 turn each sweep (90Nmm springs = 513lb)

Now: Front bump .75 / 3 sweeps Rear bump 1.0 May 2011
Front rebound .685 (4 clicks) Rear rebound 1.0 Rain: loose
110 Nmm (628) Front and 100 (571) Rear; 63mm x 140mm springs (2.5"x5.5)
Motion Ratios: 1.43 front, 1.49 rear
Wheel Rates: 307 front, 257 rear
Consider these springs for future use: 60mm x 6" 750, 728, 700
Hyperco or Swift springs 4=$357

Spring Perches
LF 2.725" RF 2.725" (measured to ridge)
LR 1.67 + 1/2 down RR 1.67" (measured to 1st thread)
The 1/2 turn of shock extension on the left rear was all that was required to corner balance the car.

Ride Heights ground to fender (NT01s) =exactly 1" lowered
LF 25 1/4 RF 25 3/8
LR 25 3/4 RR 25 5/8

Wheel center to fender
13 13 1/4
13 1/4 13 1/2
Stock center to fender
(14 1/8 14 1/4)
(14 3/8 14 1/4)

Jack Point Ride Heights (NT01s)
LF 4 1/2 RF 4 1/4
LR 4 5/8 RR 4 3/8

Current Alignment -3.5, 7.5 caster front; -3.0, 0.26" toe rear (Oct 10)

KW recommended for track use:

All bump 0.75
Front rebound 0.75
Rear rebound 1.5

Keep in mind this setup is for my fully caged car and my driving style. Most people would be more comfortable with the rear shocks set a little softer in both bump and rebound.

Very comprehensive review of KWv3 settings Rob.

About the only thing I can add is that raising the rear of a car (all other things being equal) will INCREASE tendency towards Oversteer.

Yeah, very comprehensive review by Rob indeed. This tells me I need more schooling in this matter.

I have mine set up pretty much how George had them, and I just play with the knobs on top sometimes.

I have notes somewhere, nothing with Wheel rates though, that's why Rob is much faster than I am.

Bump is a pain to set anyway, I would keep on adding rebound to settle the car under braking with r comps.

The KW stock settings are very good for street and mild track use with street tires. R comps tend to make the shocks feel bouncy, hence the need to add rebound.

Good to know....I've been trying to figure it out as much as I can before asking questions and you're the first to really mention tires play a part

Tires way above all else determine how your car handles.

My KWs came with 513lb springs all around. I moved up to 571 all around, then put 628s up front and went faster than ever. I'll probably try 628s in the rear and 700s in the front next. The stiffer the springs the more rebound damping you need but compression can actually be decreased a little. Stiffer springs usually need less anti-roll bar too.

Will be great to see you guys this weekend! Only been on track once this season

Was hoping to throw on the ASTs and wing but don't have enough time before the weekend, guess that'll have to wait until next season...
