2011 Track Junkie Thread
It was a lot of fun, winning and all, but I gotta say that the best part about the whole experience is being able to hang out with people you know who have similar interests. Talking, drinking beers, busting knuckles working on cars, relaxing in the chairs, all that is a lot more entartaining in a company. I want to thank everyone that I saw over the past weekend for their company and help. Too bad I didn't find time to go to the Main and say hi to you guys. It looks like you guys definately had fun!
I hope we can get together for one of the events like that again this year!

ReVolvolution Racing suffered ANOTHER engine failure at the 3 hourish mark. We have independently confirmed what we have figured out, the 5 cyl front wd volvos have oil starvation issues and on a track like shenandoah it takes about 3 hours for that to destroy the motor under race conditions.
The good news is that we were in 10th place (out of 100+ cars) and that was with me driving. With Pete driving we would have been even higher.
We'll solve the oiling problem and be back.
Agreed.

Sorry I didn't get to see you guys this year.. definitely next year!
This was my 6th Hyperfest and I still have yet to see 1/4 of all the goings-on. In the 6 years I have only seen 2 cars attempt a roll over not even an entire contest just 2 cars, Daisy Dukes only twice, have never seen the jefferson circuit, never the off road ride a longs, never the bounce contest, rice rice challenge either. I did see blind golf carts once and wanted to enter but didn't get a chance. Awesome stuff and I'll be back.
Thanks to team ReVolvolution for stopping by to say hello! It was good seeing you all! It is too bad that you had time because of how do they say in F1 "loss of oil pressure". My plan was to see how you were doing after my race at about the 6 o'clock hour. It seems that between my sessions and helping other racers with their repairs I don't have enough time to visit everyone all over the paddock.
Is an Accusump the answer? A baffled oil pan might do the job but I would probably go right for the accusump and be done with it. Either that or Honda mechanical transplant and keep it as simple as you can.
Any way you go about it costs are going to continue to rise. Be wise, don't put too much into a money pit but don't just total this car for another becuase you will lose all the time and material put into the current cage. A definite balancing act, I don't know the best answer---there is no 1 right answer.
Sorry I missed you Skip. Had I known you would be there I would have made sure to be at the trailer.
Thanks to Mani for stopping by the trailer too! Good to see you again and maybe back on track for the August race. The Spec3 guys are gaining experience on you.
If anyone got to see the H1 race it was pretty good. I'll have to see how I can post the video, I'm not too tech savvy. GoPro HD but my computer gives me problems. I finished 3rd and should have finished 2nd but was happy to have fun with #88 ITR. I bumped that car a dozen times if once. Exit of 10, entrance to 9, entrance to 7, all over. We connected in 2 and he went into a slide to the inside of the track. I waited on track while he collected it and we got back to racing not losing any positions. I heard someone got pics too so they might be around.

I was completely surprised and impressed seeing how huge the lemons race is. It's definitely a huge tailgate party for car people with appetite to win a car race and it's not cheap.

Finished 25th out of 115 overall.

) was easy to find up front.
