i do not think it is the track repairs causing you that much pain. we had several track records set at the SCCA National race a couple weeks back, and that was several weeks after the most recent surface repairs. was everyone else around making same complaint about poor grip? it rained last night in charles town, if it did the same at SP the green track in the morning might just need some lay down rubber time to get you back in the zone.

do not try and overdrive the car to get your times back down to what you were doing before. get used to the new acceleration/shift points and make adjustments one corner at a time as close the delta. too hard/fast too soon can very easily equal oops.

not sure what kind of shape your tires are in, but i would think maybe try again with a new set and see if the grip improves.

So just got a Bell M4 helmet from OG Racing. Wow the up front costs to this hobby are high! I wanted flat black but for some reason the white seemed slightly more comfortable. So I went with that. Do you think the clear visor will be ok? I hope it's not too sunny.

Keith, everyone was complaining about the grip but like you said it wasn't 4 1/2 seconds of lack-of-grip. My NT01s are old and I'm sure that's part of it but I am going to have to make some adjustments to how I drive the Summit. My best lap on NT01s is around a 23.6 and the fronts are very old and hyper heat-cycled so fresh tires could be a major boost.

On RP Performance's dyno I was only putting down 190 hp after the +9 gain with tuning the VAFC. Bret said his dyno is around 10% low compared to a standard Dyno-Jet dyno.

I do hope to get on Shenandoah when I can but with all the drifting on that track there aren't that many hpde events anymore.

Unless you guys tested on exactly the same dyno, there will probably be enough error that you can't really compare within +/-10hp of eachother.
(Or so I've been told by people in other forums )

What a day! Exhausted and holding the couch down to prepare for tomorrow.

Get back here caddy! I chased this guy the entire first session and we stayed about even separation. He would gain some and then I would gain some.
