Some engine paints require almost the same cure temperature as powder coating ~360F.

Engine paint will dry without baking. The first time you track them, I promise you they get stupid hot.

Kamispeed will take care of you. When I had my last s2000 I got my CE28s from them and the entire transaction went smooth. They also had a great price on them.

Now would be a great time to pick up those CE28s from Skip. Even if you aren't as keen on the conservative sizing you'll never get a better deal on great wheels.

Matt, have you tried pinching off the PCV line with a large office clip? I know that's where your catch tank is but give it a try one session. Your head will still be vented by the large hose at the front of the valve cover. I moved my catch tank to that large line and plugged the PCV line nipples. I only catch a tiny bit of oil even when running the oil at the "full" mark. If your engine is in bad shape allowing a lot of blow-by your oil dipstick might pop up with the PCV valve line plugged though.

Your oil catch problem is the PCV line is connected to the manifold behind the throttle plate so every time you close the throttle to shift the vacuum sucks the pooled oil into the intake.
Rob - I'll need you to show me all this next time we are at the track. I don't have a very well developed sense of which hose is which.

Matt,

Put a big metal office paper clip on the pcv line. The big vent line--where I have my catch can in the picture--will vent the valve cover to the intake before the throttle valve. Try that for a session and see how your car does. Mine works great with the pcv line removed.

So I compiled a list of all the track outings I could find rest of this year at either SP or VIR. These are just for HPDE/PDX stuff, not Time Trials, etc. They are:

July 11-12 (Track Daze, Summit Point)
July 16 (Friday at the Track, SP)
July 22-24 (NASA, VIR)
August 6 (SCCA, SP)
August 19 (FATT, SP)
August 20-21 (NASA, SP)
August 25-26 (TD, ?)
September 9 (FATT, SP)
September 24 (FATT AND SCCA PDX, SP)
October 1-2 (TD, ?)
October 7-9 (NASA, VIR)
October 14 (FATT, SP)
October 14-15 (TD, VIR)
November 4 (FATT, SP)
November 5-6 (NASA, SP)
November 18 (FATT, SP)

If I missed any let me know. What events are you guys attending the rest of this year?
Thinking about instructing for the FATT on the 16th. Anyone else going? I will be running on street tires if I go, so it will be a warm up event.
Thinking about making this one now since it's the only thing at Summit rest of this month (on a weekend). Want to instruct me if I do?

Ah! Thanks Rob. Picture helps. Where is crank pressure going? Even on a strong motor, there is leakdown.

I can't really tell you yes. I "qualified" to instruct with FATT, but I believe they want me to do some back seat driving the first time there as an instructor. That is why I was hoping Rob, Pete or someone I know would be there. If it wasn't my rookie instructor day with them, I would say yes. FATT instructors do get to select their students, where NASA allows you to request an instructor, but we are assigned whomever by the powers that be.
