Yeah, as long as your head isn't above the roll bar. A hard top isn't a requirement and you're not supposed to run with the soft top up anyway.

No. The side mounts were a little disappointing in that respect. I meant to ask if it was safe to drill extra holes.

I'll PM the info.

It is safe to drill holes in side mounts, no problems with that at all.

Yes, but why? You'll be slower. And spring events frequently have the wetness.

I need suggestion on SS brake lines. My brake fluid needs to be flush soon so I'll go ahead and replace the brake lines at the same time but can't decide which SS brake lines to buy. I'm deciding between GT motoring SS lines, Goodridge G Stop from Tire Rack or the PTuning Stop tech. I'm mainly looking for great fell and good quality. Also I would like to replace my clutch line with SS line because it needs to be flush too.

Any suggestion is appreciated thanks, fellas.

I just picked up my SM from Piper today they were mounting my full containment seat. I am amazed at the fabrication skills they have there. They welded in a complete custom bracket and got the seat to fit perfectly in the car for me. I tried to mount the seat on my own by bolting it in and really that was just a disaster. If you have the money I highly recommend Piper for installing a seat they know what they are doing and its worth the money.

On another note. I have a set of sparco side mounts and sliders. The sliders are brand new in the packaging still. As well as a set of front rotors and hawk brake pads if anyone is interested let me know.

I got the stoptech lines from PTuning. They are more expensive than many of the other brands but also have a good reputation. I haven't installed them yet but the fit and finish of the lines looks good.

going to be like 4K to install all the parts on my car. hopefully most of the labor costs will overlap..

thinking i will not get the valve retainers replaced.. supposedly that's a 7 hour job... if i don't do this the cost will be about 2800.

Absolutely not worth it, unless your current retainers are damaged. Save the money!

I forget, what else are you getting installed? Coilovers, and ... ?

edit: i agree. i'm only going to replace them if they have signs of damage.... this will be a last minute decision basically.
---

well i'm going to get a valve adjustment. i'm worried because i don't now what the kid who owned the car before me did... i later found out (after i bought the car) that he was only 17... and did some "mountain racing"...... my research was epic fail apparently... but nonetheless, i'm worried he over reved it too much.

If the valve adjustment shows that there are some signs of bad retainers.. i'll get them replaced..

other things:

replace subframe
clutch/flywheel/clutch line
coilovers
spc ball joints (front)
possibly installing a front BSK... although it isn't needed with the S... i got a set very very cheap... that could be a problem for labor costs though.
other things are going to be involved with the Subframe... like ap2 arms and knuckles because it an ap2 subframe... diff mount collars, new wheels/rubber put on.
corner balance
valve adjustment
fenders rolled
possibly change spark plugs if they need it
diff fluid, tran fluid (obviously), oil chang
installed some other things i can't remember now..
