2011 Track Junkie Thread
T9 was always a place to get blow-by. You may have not noticed it before or you may have been going faster than before. Or you could've jacked yer ish up!
I think I saw Cory had a motor for sale in the VA Beach area if needed.
Good seeing you and your companion(mop of hair)!

as for the motor, i really hope it's just standard AP1 oil blow-by on hard right handers and hopefully i just didn't notice it before, but I guess i'll do a compression test, leak down, and check out the retainers/valves... anything else you guys recommend? Maybe a boroscope...
Sheel - don't sweat it. Mine smokes like a middle aged russian pimp in turn 9. I have great compression. It just means you are going fast. I plugged the PCV valve and its still doing it. Install a catch can, then it will stop smoking till you fill it up. http://robrobinette.com/S2000CatchCan.htm
If you did overrev get the retainers replaced. You should be able to check them for cracking.

Has any one tried cryo treated rotors to prevent the cracking/failing? This type of failure seems pretty common in our car.

They are supposedly a little better but not really worth it.
I'm a little out of touch with pricing. What is the beat deal on blanks these days? (From where?)
I'm at 120,000 miles on my ORIGINAL OEM rotors and it's time to replace them. (Yes; 4-5 track days, dozens of autocross, trips to the Dragon, spirited back rock driving, etc..)
