This is true.

Hey guys, those running brake ducts, what size bolts or screws did you use to fasten/secure the flanges to the bumper and to the brake shield? Can you give me any help on this one? Also, if the dust shields are on the car can this be done or do the dust shields need to be removed?

I just went to Lowes and picked up some small hex bolts and nuts that looked like they would fit for the dust shield. I didn't use any screws on the bumper flanges, I just secured them from the back with the hose clamps.

I didn't remove the dust shields either, left them on the car.

Oh I forgot you have an AP2, not sure how to do the bumper flange part on those.

Jim, did you cut a hole into your dust shield?

Yeah, the AP2 configuration requires a little bit more creativity but I probably can find a solution. Rob's writeup is pretty good and my gf's brother in law is very comfortable with power tools so I will be able to consult with him on the cutting parts I think.

Some guy made some really nice custom brake ducts for his AP2 bumper. It started with the initial shape being the same as the fake duct on the AP2 bumper. I think it looks 1000% better than just making a single circular hole.

Also, anyone ever running their ducts out through the front grill instead? Wouldn't require cutting the bumper at all which I suppose would be nice.

Yup, the metal is pretty thin and weak, so I just used a normal hole saw.

While it is still mounted? Any sort of difficulty with it?
